Spuds ?
I meant triple heat CFC-NC-Manure.
But Spuds have to face City (0 point), Sheffield United and Newcastle away.
Is sixth place milko cup, no europa ?

6th is only Conference League if Manure wins the FA Cup

if the 3 way is chels, nufc and manure

then Spuds are 5th (for sure, as there is no way for the all 3 to catch them AND be tied, as Spuds have 63, and NUFC and Manure play each other, so one will drop points, or both will drop points if they draw) thus only Chels could get to 63 AND pass spuds (Manure can get to 63, but basically no chance to catch spuds on GD, as they are -15 to them), BUT if we are tied with Manure and NUFC, that means we dropped points as well and cannot catch Spuds

In a 3 way tie with Chels, Man U, and Newcaste

NUFC will get 6th on GD as they are +10 on us and no way we can win the next two games by enough goals to catch them if we are also tied with Manure (and thus NUFC get either Europa League  or Conference League, depending on the FA Cup)

we would get 7th on GD (and either Conference League or nothing depending on the FA Cup)

and Manure 8th on GD (they are -15 to us) and no chance at all for any Europe

They won't.
So what does 6th place give us ?

if Manure lose the FA Cup, 6th is Europa League, which is what I am shooting for, as even a draw for spuds v Sheff U guarantees them 5th (or a draw v Citeh and lose to Sheff U, which would be crazy)

Spuds are gone, they would need to lose to City and Sheffield and for us to win the rest of our games. For sure, City beat them but I can equally see us dropping points - particularly against Brighton.

For me 6th is us v Newcastle. I reckon they will pip us on GD as I reckon we both draw our next game and win our last games of the season.

I think we win both of our last 2 games

and I think NUFC are favourites to do so too

thus we agree that we lose out on 6th to NUFC on GD

which fucking sucks

BUT I am truly hoping for a Manure draw or win v NUFC

that, IMHO, is more likely than us dropping points to Brighton, I truly believe that

If we cannot beat Brighton and Bournemouth, we do not deserve Europe

Shamefully I switched off at 2-1 and did some other bits only to look a while after and see it was 3-2 on 96 minutes, shame on me! Had all the hope as per usual when Mudryk slotted in, rest of the match my gosh he was as we expect.

Caceido can't pass yet he keeps making some absolutely defence breaking passes against the opposition - and one that leads to the winner.

Jackson is a terrible finisher too - he just scores game winners.

In other news - it is time to go for Poch. We can't control games against bottom 5 sides, which is not what we want. These are games we should have 70% possession, recycle offence all game, and lose only if the absolute worst luck ever is on our side. Instead - this was a 50/50 game, where we came out on top due to a bit of luck and some decent changes.

I would say wait. I still think there is one missing piece in midfield.

If we add an experienced head to complement Caicedo and Enzo next season., I'm sure we will see the best out of both., and more control of the midfield., and therefore the game.

It's no coincidence that the game changed so easily with the subs. The players on the pitch make all the difference., be it through quality or experience. In midfield, I think we have quality, but no experience. That's the missing piece for me.

I'm not saying Poch will guide us to a title, but with the right transfer additions, he can easily make this midtable team challenge for top 4.

Agreed, apart from us winning out. I still do not have enough faith in the team to pull that off but I hope I am wrong. As you, I really want the Ropey League place as I actually quite like the competition and believe it to one a great extra CL qualifying option.

Forget about 70% possession, how about actually trying to attack teams like Forest, Burnley with pace, dribbling on the wide flanks.   That's how you get at these types of teams who like to score and then go compact or deep just to frustrate you.

I would have expected 70% possession if we had a Jorginho/Kovacic/Fabregas type to recycle possession but we don't as the only one remotely close to them hasn't been seen all season (*Lavia*).

We do need more control in the CM, if we just go out and attack we will end up in basketball matches every game, which would be fun but it means that a lot of games will be lost or drawn because of it. No success team in the PL has not had control in CM. Best example of a team with no real control in CM but outrageous attack was Newcastle circa 1995-97.

I think there's space for a midfielder even if the club don't sell Connor.

Enzo Caicedo Lavia Connor and new signing. Can be the 5 mids for 2/3 places in the team.

Just to clarify, I meant going out and attacking against this type of opposition as they can easily concede 2-3 quick goals.   Against solid teams, absolutely we need more control in midfield.

Brighton are in the beach so we should be all over them intensity wise.

What we do, do and what we should do are two different things. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Poch lines the team up with Badi and Disaster as the two CB's and rests Trev and Silva.
