I want to keep GP but if this board does decide to sack him then honestly, we need to prize Luis Enrique away from Spain..

Enrique isn't even the Spain manager anymore, he was released after the World Cup.

But he's shite anyway.

The season was already over before it started anyway, so I don't see any logic to be sack Potter now  unless you don't believe that we will win the Champions League with Pochettino before to be sack  next December .

Potter's situation to me resembles that of Moyes after the Ferguson Era at United -  a team in transition, and every decision you make turns against you because your name is not Ferguson .

and to remind that we had 5 wins in his  first 6 games  at the club before the injury pandemic with two clear wins over AC Milan with this same Potter

we can judge Potter next season at the earliest after he cleared out those who don't want to be at Chelsea

You really think ancelotti and Conte got sacked because the players "stopped trying"? Sarris last game was the Europa League final , did they win that by "not trying"?

So your saying Conte was sacked for been a bad manager?

Had we got relegated, I can totally see some people claiming we were destined for Championship even before TT sack, so Potter is fine. And then the same people will bash our players for lacking mentality 🤫

I don't think the hot chair was great concept, but GP is not the man to build upon. His appointment was a mistake from the very beginning that should be fixed ASAP.

People bash our squad, but if we lose two years and end up with 25 Brighton level players, empty pocket and blocked FFP and THEN start to think maybe we need a manager after all it's all cool?

60m for a knee jerk reaction no thank you, he was brought in to build from the ground up at least let him try before giving him 60m and waving him good bye.

The hope is that a situation like this wouldn't happen because of the footballing structure now being put into place. In some ways the appointment of Vivell is more important than Potter with regards to this rebuild as he will be tasked on joining the dots of each operation to ensure its well oiled.

When Pep decides he's had enough, I don't envisage City moving for the highest profile manager available, they'll move for the best fit which suits their squad and can continue their success under Pep. We have never done this, we've always gone for the best manager available in the past and it's left us with a number of players bought under a number of different managers with different ideas, philosophies and even formations. It has left an unbalanced squad put together with scattergun tactics. The hope moving forward is we're either buying younger players who have more propensity to be moulded into what you want them to be, or we're buying immediate first team ready additions who actually fit into the team.

Whether Potter remains in the long term or not, the hope will then be that if he is moved on at some stage, the next appointment will be made with consideration to the squad at the disposal and not just the biggest managerial name out there (e.g. buying a number of skilful, technical attacking players and then appointing Simeone to manage them).

And his utmost isn't nearly good enough, a top coach would have them playing harder than this.

Tuchel was a top coach and players gave up on him. It's always the same with the situation.

I'm glad the owner put someone and will back him no matter what. It's time to get rid of player power.

Newsflash: Mourinho didn't think United were a big club anymore.

Okey so who do we have lined up? Cant see Poch taking the job with his connections to spurs and there isnt many elite managers out there.

Would Enrique take the job? He would probably under normal circumstances but would he be up for it and interested in taking on this rebuild right now when we are so unbelievable shite?

Podge should never EVER be mentioned here. He is the next step up from Potter. Slightly better football but no winner. Plus ....them lot. Non starter for me

Anyone else would just be a 2 year caretaker.

Interestingly, it would be bang on league's average, that is highest of all top leagues:

Quote

According to an analysis of 90 leagues across the world by CIES Football Observatory, coaches in just seven leagues, including Major League Soccer and Norway’s Eliteserien, had a longer average tenure than Premier League managers.

As of March 1st 2022, the day after Jesse Marsch took charge of Leeds United, the average Premier League tenure was 772 days, which is a little over two years and one month.

That compares to 628 days in the Bundesliga, 617 days in La Liga, and just 385 and 384 days in Ligue 1 and Serie A, respectively. It is also longer than the average time that top-flight managers in Portugal or the Netherlands have been in employment.

Yes and its not a surprise, that the 2 clubs that dominated English football the last couple of years are teams that have their manager in place for a lot longer than that.
