The Next Manager?

No, the way modern footy goes the star players are more important at ANY CLUB.

Imagine if Barca choose Tata over Messi because it was the "right" thing to do? Or we let Jose wield out "the rats"?

I guess I’ve got more of an issue with modern football then cause you’re right that’s the culture now. A real power shift has happened in the last few years with more and more astronomical fees. I’m just old school and feel it’s a team game. Not just one player.

That latest announcement. Tell me these motherfuckers aren't trolling now. Knowing that millions of Chelsea fans around the world are waiting on a knife edge for something to happen and they chose now to say they're "delighted to announce" a god damned health sponsor. Not a couple of weeks ago, not a couple of weeks from now, but today when they know everyone is speculating that something may happen.

😂😂😂

Hazard > any manager

In what way do you think that?

IF a manager puts a gelled happy team together then they dont have to be big individuals Thats down to the manager.

But if Eden or any other player has one of his days where he goes missing and is all grumpy then we should just be able to stick someone else in and carry on.

No team should be reliant on any one player.

A player might be of great use to a team but the manager is the one with the foresight to put that team together shirley? And at the end of the day hes the one that gets the blame if the team dont perform well. Not the player.

This is so frustrating but as others have said we should just sit back and wait and see what happens , no matter what happens now, it’s a disaster either way really.

My thoughts are changing every day lol. It’s looking like Conte stays but if that was the case surely the club would have released a statement with all the speculation going on, it costs them nothing to do that. Maybe it is all a big troll and deep down the club and players know Conte is staying and it’s just so everyone is talking about Chelsea

It's actually the perfect time, annoying as it may seem. They'll know people are checking regularly for information regarding Sarri/Conte so any sort of announcement like this provides maximum exposure.

One thing is for sure - situation must be sorted out before Hazard returns from WC. If he returns and finds club in this state, he won't think twice when Real comes knocking, or even someone else.
If club keeps Conte, but brings likes of Kovacic, Seri, Jorginho, I have no regrets about Hazard. It cant all go his way...
It's not like Belgium is playing ultra offensive - three CBs with Fellaini and Witsel agains Brasil, lol. It's just - there he has KDB and Lukaku, and that's enough for him to rock.

Exposure that nobody in our Blue world gives a toss about right now.

Its great the business men and woman on our board are concerned and putting their time into making these endorsements, various sponsors, advertising etc

But it would be real nice if there was actually someone on it who knew a bit about football and what was necessary right now. If for nothing more than general morale.

Because football these days seem to suffer from loses of key players much much more than a loss of even the best managers.

We lost Jose the first time at the absolute peak of his powers yet still basically managed ourselves to the CL final and through an intense title race. Barca lost Pep and still won titles at a impressive rate, I can't recall many times a team have lost such a key player to the extent Hazard, Kante etc are to us and didn't feel the loss at least in the short term.

I have to begrudgingly agree. The lifespan nowadays of a manager means that a club's strategy has to extend well beyond the current manager and as a result players, and especially the best players at the club play a big part in that.

Course I agree. But as you say when we have lost managers we have had a side at the time which were very good a short wile earlier and had just lost our way thru confidence or various other reasons. So the team was in place.

Its always difficult when we lose a major player but we have done so many times and we find ways to get over it, But as you say we have suffered in the short term

I dont like losing our key players but also dont like losing managers that have done good work with us neither. I just find it a shame that the balance can't stay the same and personalities, egos, characters  have to clash and fuck things up.
