Sarri has won nothing. Not sure why people are obsessed with him. Naples has played some nice football but it doesn't win you titles. Keeping Conte makes more sense (Ofc if he wants to stay).

I think you need your head checked out if you want to see Conte staying, but for argument purposes I actually want to hear the argument for him staying.

because honestly I can’t see any.

I'm wondering IF peeps would be happy if we played good looking football but was a anual 5/5/7 placed team?

If you play good looking football you don't finish that low. Bearing in mind good looking football also includes defending well before anybody jumps in with the Arsenal example and the likes who don't win anything because of their inability to defend. Last season we played good football and won the league.

Guys Im plowing twitter as we speak since im home recovering from a minor operation (nose). I will try to keep all of you hard-working updated but it is NOT looking good at the moment.

Ancelotti to Napoli is DONE according to Di Marzio´s staff and Sky Italy.
Sarri is close to agree with Zenit since Chelsea sitting on their hands doing NOTHING.

Edit: Daily Mail running the story about Sarri close to Chelsea but every other Italian media claims he is close to sign for Zenit.

Yesterday Sarri had turned down Zenit lol

You seriously think we can challenge next season with Conte at the helm? What's he gonna change? He doesn't have a plan B any more. We have been outplayed by Spurs and City at home and away, and that poor Arsenal side even outplayed us at times. If we were to challenge, I don't think Conte is the right man any longer.

Well, the man didn't say that we will challenge with Conte on the bench. He said that it makes more sense to keep him than to bring Sarri. To be honest, I kind of agree and here are my arguments:

1. Conte already knows the league, the club. We've been through a crisis with him. If the board gives him another go, it means that he has their support. It would be a great sign of sanity from the club.

2. For good and for worse, Conte won stuff and kept us hoping for UCL football until the very last game. The atmosphere was so toxic that this spring's accomplishments are not actually that bad. Remember that this is Chelsea we're talking about. Bigger names have fallen way worse than Conte this season, under better circumstances.

3. Most of the issues in this relationship between Conte and Chelsea are due to his relationship with the board. Not the players, not the fans. If they can sort it out, maybe things will be way better next season.

4. We played great football at times (vs. Atletico in Madrid, vs. Barca away, vs. Spurs away, even vs. United in the FA Cup). He showed adaptability, but also a few flaws. He's still young, still learning. But see point 1. Continuity might be key here.

5. He always said that he's not happy with the transfers and with the squad. Our best players seems to agree with him. Hazard said that we need better players, nothing about better tactics or better manager. I tend to think that he knows better than we do what's behind the scenes. Back to the point, if Conte stays it means that things will improve on this aspect.

6. Like it or not, Conte is a bigger face and name than Sarri, who won nothing. Look at his European record. I'm not saying that Conte is way better, but I think he's more attractive to good players than Sarri.

That would be it from me. I'm not 100% sure that sticking with Conte would be the right way, but I can see where Tautvix is coming from. The whole Sarri hype is unjustified.

Conte has been going through the motions since january. His attitude and demeanor on and off the pitch was night and day compared to before.

Before he was jumping up and down the touchline screaming at players where to go while in the press conferences he would keep talking about working hard and fighting for the club.

Since january we've rarely seen that Conte. Kept talking about how he's getting the maximum out of this team and bitching about our transfer dealings.

Just seems like the fire Conte had in the beginning is gone and a Conte without that fire just isn't worth keeping around.

1. Bigger issue is the league knows him better. The reason he was wildly successful in his first season was due to the fact the league was unprepared for him and was still adjusting to his tactics and mainly formation. The league has figured him out, and next year the league will be mored adjusted to him. If he is retained that doesn't necessarily mean the board support him. More likely if he is retained is due to financial reasons.

2. Not sure this is a good argument for Conte, the better argument you could make that Conte should have been sacked earlier in the season. If he was sacked we could have been secured a CL comfortably with the way Liverpool and Spuds were self destructing.

3. What makes you think there is no issues with the players. He sold our best striker at the beginning of the season, and casted out David Luiz. In fact you could make a much more compelling case most of the players are tired of him. Even Cahill wouldn't back him publicly after the FA cup. Conte will always blame the board that is what he always do, he did the same shit at Juventus. Juve are arguably one of the best managed clubs, and he hated them and blamed them anytime his signing failed.

4. Not going to respond to this, just going to say the football we played this season is the worst i have seen as a Chelsea fan.

5. Actually if you believe writers like Matt Law and Simon Johnson, Hazard does not want to play for Conte. The issue is Conte doesn't know what better players are, Morata and Bakayoko were his primary target and they awfully disappointed. Our issue is not spending like Conte wants us to believe. It is shit signing like Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zippacosta, Alonso, etc.

6. This is an awful take, Sarri would be a much more disarable coach to play under. His tactics are what the majority of footballers want to play under. Look at the players at Napoli how much they improved under him, imagine what he could do with some of the best talents in the world. This is by the far biggest issue i see with Conte, i can't imagine top players wanting to play under him. He stays Hazard is gone, and so is Willian. The only players he will sign is more donkeys.
