that's sad, not because he turned us down but because we have no one else to turn to right now... this isn't surprising at all.. to to his credit, Jose came back when everybody else who's somebody wouldn't even consider coming anywhere near us with a gas mask on.

I don't really see how Chelsea would come out of this sink hole .... :(

We will be fine, if we dropped out in 2012 we would have been in shit because the squad wasn't very good, now despite this shitstorm, we do have quality in this squad and if we can keep these players together and add well, we can defiantly recover next season, especially if we can finish in or around the top of the league table from when Hiddink came in onwards.

Take the Palace game for example, was better than any display in 10/11, 11/12 or 12/13, this squad is still capable.

I am not a fan of the bloke by any means he's certainly someone who it's hard to warm to but this is from the Guardian's daily email the fiver.

Rafa Benítez won two La Liga titles and a Euro Vase at Valencia; orchestrated the most astonishing Big Cup win in history for the benefit of Liverpool; triumphed in the most exciting FA Cup final of the modern era; knocked Barcelona out of Big Cup on their own patch using players primarily interested in battering seven shades out of each other with golf clubs; became a world champion; and most impressively of all won a European trophy for Chelsea, a feat wholly beyond the ken of a certain other Iberian tactician who didn’t have to cope with the added pressure of 41,798 punters screaming eff, cee and effing cee at him every 12 seconds while he was trying to concentrate on his job.

But despite it all, poor old Rafa never seems to get any respect. As well as having to put up with 41,798 punters screaming eff, cee and effing cee at him every 12 seconds while he was trying to concentrate on his job, he’s also repeatedly got it in the neck as a result of being a bit defensive; for not being very good at media patter; for once coming second best in the old mind games with Lord Ferg, a failure which puts him in an exclusive club known as Everyone; for looking at Him in a funny way; and for not having a similar body mass index to Keith Richards that time the Rolling Stones guitarist stayed awake for the entirety of 1972.

It’s not much of a rap sheet, when you look at it dispassionately. But it’s been enough to get him the heave-ho from Real Madrid, who are burning through managers at such a rate that Sam Allardyce is statistically almost certain to be offered the chance he’s been dreaming of in March 2017, just after Leicester City put the Spanish giants out of Big Cup quarter-finals 5-0 on aggregate

We should go all out for Ancelloti and stop playing around.

If we want good football and trophies combined get him. As Guardiola is not a certain target, what other attacking and high calibre managers are left? Allegri? Blanc? German coach Joakim low? Chile coach??

There's not many, but Ancelloti is proven so I don't know why we've become so unserious in this matter. Fight bayern for him, money for money, at least it's easier than facing both city and manutd for Pep. Unless we're planning on giving Hiddink the full time manager role.

Ancelotti has already agreed to take over from Guardiola at Bayern.

I know it's been stated, but I don't know if there was any contract signed. But if there's no contract we should hijack the deal. Unless we want to manage pellegrini after city dump him

Edit: Btw anyone know if there is there a new way to embed tweets with the forum update? Doesn't seem to work by just posting the link to it.

Lmao. We're even in a more shit position than I thought.

If Pep goes to City, we can forget about winning the premier League then. Because no one we can bring in can beat Pep to a league title. He's the best flat track bully in the history of the game.

Thats the problem with a twitter page that only quote what they want, probably only to atract attention. This twitter page is a joke. The actual article talk about Pellegrini situation, and if he indeed leave for Guardiola, then Pellegrini would be reasonable option, since the promotes attacking football and speaks english. Its only the writer opinion about the subject.

Ah you're right. The quote is taken out of context and is made to look objective but it's just an opinion piece. Some peace of mind for the meanwhile at least, although I can't help but feel wary that there is something genuine in these niggling rumours about Pellegrini to Chelsea.
