bellion 170
It all depends on the new manager but I believe that Ivanovic will retain his first team spot next season and the team will continue to leak lots of goals.

Ridiculous, isn't it? This bum gets a new deal. JT is yet to get, Ash and Lamps didn't get one but this fraud does. Smh at this club. Popular Post! Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067 Posted January 22, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted January 22, 2016 Ivanovic is not a leader.. A leader is one who leads by example. How can any of his fellow teammates respect anything he has to say in terms of leading the dressing room when they can all see he's making their lives harder and a shell of his former self. Not buying any justification for his extension. None. Can't believe he'll be starting games next season as well. What the hell is going on round Chelsea man? The Skipper 20,609
Yeah, Ivanovic's time as a starter here should've been over a long time ago but have some respect for someone who's given a lot to this club, please. If he had any dignity, he would have said thanks but no thanks. All those countless times where he has been humiliated, from Kompany making him his bitch in the air to Tadic, his own countryman, humiliating him with the ball at his feet, and he gets this princess treatment?? F**k him, it's like the last and only realistic hope for him to eternally f**k off with his uselessness is to get injured for a long time, and someone else takes his place like Bellering pushed Debuchy far far away in the pecking order. Oh, please. He doesn't not get paid that much, he never has and never will.
The Chels 2,502
I reckon the contract is (at least, in part) due to the sheer amount of playing time he (still) gets. We all know that Mourinho had an obsession with the Serb and their relationship was such that it was unsurprising to see Jose sacked before a rapidly declining Ivanovic was ever dropped. Remember how a couple of years ago Steve Clarke said Ivanovic was Mourinho's favourite player? Whilst it may not have been that obvious back then, by the end of his tenure it most certainly was. Hiddink, meanwhile, is just trying to steady the boat and is not willing or currently able to make the large-scale changes that you would expect from our next manager. Technically inept and immobile, I would be very surprised if Ivanovic is still a regular in the starting 11 next season.
Azul 1,615
What a joke our club has become, I swear on everything that we're are starting to look like this decade's Liverpool. Our board is absolute wank. stroey and King11Didier
Viper22 2,418
Remember when we were awesome and Spurs were the joke? Feels a long time ago now as the roles have completely reversed. Don't even have the words to describe what a damn farce this is.
Pizy 18,908
I'd say it's nailed on that he's starting for us going into the 2016/17 season. Unless Guardiola was the new manager (which obviously isn't happening) he'll be used as an "experienced general" and one of the first names on the team sheet. bellion

robsblubot 3,595
Most people are missing the obvious ... That keeping ivanovic saves money - is yet another cheap move for a squad that is on the cheap side compared to the other top clubs. he's been playing at a decent good level and people are wrong to criticize him too much for Everton game. Their left side is usually very strong with baines and anyone would struggle with that - another player would certainly too. we failed to contain that side as a team. he was beaten some times by overlaps. Other times by early crosses, which is Baines' virtue and very difficult to contain. Of course he's on the decline as he loses the little pace he had. But the club does not seem capable of investing in multiple areas apparently.

Blue Armour 4,439
But all the same, still value him for what he's contributed over the years...don't mind him staying on, just hope the other senior player in the squad is given equal treatment
