Eze is fun to watch, but doesn't strike me as a player starting for a title competing team. Great off the bench if needed.

Just don't see anything crazy game changing about him in his role.

Last thing we need despite me really rating him. We’ve got Andrey Santos and that guy from Sporting we bought in January coming in to add to our already great midfield options. And £60m for Wharton I think Palace would laugh at and instantly tell anyone to piss off.

I do wonder if it'll be Enzo, Caicedo, Santos, Lavia (no-one will take him now considering his injury issues)  with that guy from Sporting staying on loan next season.

Would love to have Wharton though, should be a top level PL midfielder for the next decade.

Liverpool have initiated talks with Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku’s camp. Newcastle United are also thought to be interested in Nkunku, alongside Bayern Munich who have been informed of the conditions of the deal. (via@Santi_J_FM)

Newcastle United have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

(FrazFletcher)

Liverpool want to speed up the deals with J.Frimpong, M.Kerkez,T.Araújo in the next days.
The Reds are also very interested in signing C.Nkunku.

😴😴

Think the reporting I saw was that the Sporting kid is coming in straight away during the CWC. But who knows.

I’d be incredibly surprised if we were interested in another CM.

Would Eze and Palmer fit together though?      And you would think Pep would be all over Eze to help fill the KDB void

Pep seems to have prioritized Wirtz and Morgan Gibbs-White

I think they would. Eze seems like he can make the jump up right now and has just 2 years left on his contract too

Tbh if we have constrained budget (due to years of horrendous misspending) I would spend every penny on GK and 2 CBs and just try to get by with what we have otherwise, as grim as it would be

Arsenal (and various other clubs historically, including us) have shown you can do a fair bit with boring football and a good setup at the back

CF would be amazing but for me would be the one we could delay if we have no choice

Think we are a little conditioned to expect to have our cake and eat it too at this point we may have to just prioritise and try to get by

What happens to Colwill if we purchase two CBs? Purchasing someone who would mostly be a bench/rotation player would be a waste of money because it appears that the club has all of their expectations on him for that position.

That, in my opinion, is mostly due to the owners' readiness to spend a lot of money on players. We may be in a far better situation both financially and on the pitch if they stopped spending £50–80 million on poor players who COULD be the next this or that.

Colwill has been pretty poor for the best part of the last 2 full seasons though and needs someone who can come in and play at a high level to push him to improve so he can earn his place. Defensively he looks a bit off it and can be an easy target.

I get he’s an academy player but if you’re not doing it, there can be absolutely no exceptions. I am surprised we haven’t seen more of Badiashile but he also has had injuries and performance issues.

If we signed Guehi I reckon he’d come in and start in that LCB position. But has to be someone in their prime that comes in at GK, CB & CF - no more prospects.

I've been very vocal about his lapses in concentration, which seem to happen multiple times per game, so I'm totally with you and your evaluation. The issue is those making the decisions and actually being blindsighted where one of our own is concerned.

Guehi doesn't excite me in the slightest especially if the rumoured fees are to be believed.

Are players in their prime really going to accept £150kpw~?

Players like Huijsen are probably the ones that clubs like Real Madrid take because they will really reach a high level in the future and whom we can't afford because they are not given the salary they want, for example. Others like Osimhen are old and we still don't give them the salary they want and that's why we take players from the middle. But don't worry clowlake already scout some brazillian kid or French from Le Havre .

Percy is extremely reliable on Leicester stuff, too.

I’m 100% convinced these owners aren’t going to change if this is true. All of our rivals are going to be loading up on elite players to help them straight away whilst we’re going to continue going after complete rando’s like this who may never see the pitch in a Chelsea shirt.
