Duppy Conqueror 1,557
I'd sell Sterling for 99p wages off the book and forever have the shame of being valued less than items found in poundland! Kinda like when Bates bought Chelsea for a pound.(plus taking on our debts) NikkiCFC and Vesper 1

I forgot he existed. Haven’t heard anything all summer about him going anywhere either.

I wonder if these journalists jumped the gun a bit making it sound as though a deal was close. We may have just contacted Leipzig to get an idea of how much they wanted for him and that’s all. If we don’t get some significant movement like a bid going in or a “he ONLY wants Chelsea” from Fabrizio or Ornstein then I’m assuming the deal isn’t as sure as it seemed earlier in the week. Is he going on loan or something? He was kind of expensive and not really reserves age anymore.

Some players have far and away amazing stats compared to others - but aren't anywhere near as impactful. Football is so different to something like basketball, where you can see how successful someone is from certain part of the court converting on attempts, etc. Football is too expansive and the low scoring element changes things completely. Much harder to zone in on what makes players great.
