Both good players but not ones to take them back to challenging for anything important. They have no European football at all, so these are the signings you should expect. Players from sides who were relegation candidates.

Now they’re skint and have to shop at smaller clubs for players who would jump at the chance to move to a big club.

If they had won, Osimhen or Gyokeres would have been their major signing. Their extended absence from the CL has finally caught up with them and is primarily why they are even sounding out the possible sale of Fernandes. I mean I think if Arsenal go for him, he is their man but after we probably will stand best chance if we go for him. I hope Arsenal do go for Sesko because for me Gyokeres will give them a major advantage next season but Havertz will still be a key player for Arsenal next season, hence why Arteta may go for a player like Sesko who won't start every game. But we have CL footy to offer, the London factor and also a young but improving team. The board need to show intent and increase the wages, because we definitely have more of a chance than I thought before. If Liverpool sell Nunez, to Saudis for big money, would not be surprised to see them go for him also, but ultimately think it will come down between Arsenal and us, if the board decide they want to go for him. NikkiCFC 8,385
Yes, you never know with players from Portuguese league and there is a question mark how he would handle PL but two very promising signs for me are: 1) his body and physics. I know how much determination is needed to build those muscles and this shows his personality. Much more likely person with that mindset to succeed than someone overweight like Lukaku or toxic personality like Osimhen etc... 2) his national team games. Last year or two he is outscoring Isak who is arguably best PL striker. Isak 7 goals in last 18 games for Sweden. Gyokeres 13 in last 15. Also 6 in 8 for Sporting in CL. Honestly we should do everything in our power to get him.
Mário César 1,345
I understand the doubts about the Portuguese league because there have been players who have performed well but others who haven't lived up to expectations. the case of gyo is different. he's an animal. he'd be a tremendous signing
Pizy 18,996
Will say, in a summer where Osimhen and Gyokeres will both be on the move, us still being linked with Delap and Ekitike and ending up with one of them instead would be really underwhelming/disappointing. These are not the sort of striker that comes in and takes us to Liverpool’s level or scares any of the elite teams in Europe. mkh
