Dortmund are hoping to exploit and make Chelsea get nervous about Carney Chukwuemeka. Chelsea wants to sell him for £21m, or at minimum £17m, but BVB wants him for cheaper and through a loan with a buy option.

Yeah, if we pull off the Xavi and Garnacho (🤢) signings I think we’re awesome in attack and with our midfield depth we’re awesome there, too. Cucu and James are elite at fullback. Really the only two parts of our team that you can say are a CLEAR step down from the other 3 title contenders are CB and GK. You can stack the rest of our squad up against anyone in Europe.

I think a starting combo of Trev + Tosin will be just fine against most opponents because the team in front of them should be so good. But against the rival Big 6 attacks? Or the elite UCL sides? That’s where I worry.

Every team has weaknesses. But when you are so good in attack with controlling games and possession you can get away with not so good defense.

I mean prime Barca dominated European football with below average keeper Valdes 183cm. Had DM Mascherano as starting CB who is just 174cm. Alves was great attacking full back but not so good in defense. Pique was clumsy and always overrated. Maresca is same school.

Come one mate.. Everyone is for themselves, every club represent their own interests. It's just business, negotiation.

Them trying to put pressure on us isn't any more or less disgusting than us trying to pinch out the last penny of a player who is highly unwanted and is like 23rd in the packing order in his position.

I like Carney and I see BVB is ideal club for him, I hope deal will be done and he can rebuild himself. He was very unlucky, Poch seemed to fancy him, he wrecked himself 2 games into that season.

Enzo Maresca: “It’s a priority for me to get a new centre back. We will see if we go for it”.

if they want another center back, we need to sell badiashile and disasi

Until today:

Fofana

Colwill

Hato

Tosin

Chalobah

Disasi

Achepomg

Badiashile

8 center backs to two slots. I know that Colwill will miss a big part of the season and Hato can play also as a LB and Fofana tend to injury a lot but still..

Even if we sold disasi, if Maresca ant another center back, there still 87players to two positions. Its too much

Striker Nicolas Jackson was left out of Chelsea's squad to face Bayer Leverkusen on Friday after agreeing with the club that he can leave this summer.

The 24-year-old trained alone on Friday amid reported transfer interest from Newcastle after they missed out on signing Manchester United-bound Benjamin Sesko.

A move suits Jackson and Chelsea, with the Blues having signed two strikers this summer - Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

Chelsea hope to receive at least double the £32m they spent to sign the Senegal forward in 2023 from Villarreal.

The club believe he is worth more than the £52m paid by Arsenal to sign Noni Madueke due to the striker's superior goal and assists statistics.

If their asking price is not met, Chelsea plan to reintegrate Jackson into the squad.

Christopher Nkunku was also left out of the match amid a possible move but is also getting over a minor injury complaint and not in full training.

Jackson has scored 30 goals and delivered 12 assists in 80 matches for Chelsea in his two years at the club.

In September 2024, he signed a nine-year contract until 2033.

After Maresca’s comments I think Guehi is nailed on. Low fee, PL ready, Chelsea connection.

Can’t imagine we’re going to go and pay £80m or something to go and get one of the usual names our supporters fantasize about like the lad from Inter.
