Yeah if you put it like that it smells fishy. But would be quite a risky play if all they wanted to do is bring the price up for us.

Btw also think Adams would have been a smart low-risk signing. 111m for Caicedo is still worse than  insane. Rather pay 50m for Laiva and 20 for Adams.

Caicedo >> both Lavia and Adams together

But

£110m is just ridiculous. We are having our pants pulled down again and again.

Hate this kind of thing, I actually feel sorry for Poch, bringing in players that have skipped his entire, rather famous, pre-season physical prep.

Either Winstanley was told to not spend X or he was incompetent to the point of neglect to which we are now paying the price for inexperience.

I'm sorry but if your bosses have to step in to do your job, your not very good at it.

In all honesty don’t know who’s done worse.

Barring Fernandez and Badiashile in January this “amazing footballing department” have not exactly convinced, particularly when it comes to negotiations look at Mudryk and even Fernandez cost a lot despite being a good player - although was drawn out to fuck getting it done.

Then prior to that, Boehly & Eghbali also made huge mistakes in the previous summer. Fair Nkunku & Jackson may prove to be part of the exceptions also but the last 3 windows have been absolutely ridiculous for various reasons.

If Boehly and Eghbali are taking over in negotiation, then wtf is the point of the people you have in charge?

Winstanley is a well known talent finder. He found Caicedo in Ecuador. If he is not good negotiator no problem. Happy to have him.

Klopp said 7 years ago when 100m transfers became reality he will retire.

Meanwhile two more windows and 150m transfers will not be shocking and first 200 ones will come. Hope we can put our resources and those numerous "talented" players acquired to really make our academy and Strasbourg backbone of first team, instead of disposing those players for little to no profit and then race for mediocre fellas from Leeds or Brighton for fees that could buy you an entire top-flight football club few years ago.
