I’m going back to bed. Another Monday, another increasingly confident FC, bumbling ManUtd have signed two now.

It’s madness. We were THE club that was getting the most hype about how active we’d be this window and how much we were going to spend.

And we’re now the ONLY Big 6 club that hasn’t signed anyone. Insane.

Is it the end of the transfer window already?

Obviously would like a deal done soon just to get things moving but we also need to ensure that we get the right players.

News that players like Maatsen will be given a look rather than just buying a 2nd tier LB/LWB is actually something I support. I mean, let's be real, such transfers please some people for about three games then said 2nd tier LWB/LB gets call a dreg, a deadwood player etc, by the same people screaming for transfers after those three games.

In addition, I think some people need to be realistic about where we're at owing to the take over and the moving on of Granny.

By the looks of it, we went back to square one some time after the take over. This means that we needed to decide who would take over the transfers, change our transfer targets and get agreement between the leading parties dealing with this on what they want/can do (TT and TB.) That isn't something done in one or two meetings.

On top of this, people really need to remember that transfers don't get done in a couple of weeks, unless;

a) someone is willing to pay over the odds (the buying club)

b) a player is willing to take a hit

C) a selling club needs to fire sell/raise money quickly.

If not, you're looking at weeks/months as there are big tax/family/housing implications. I am really surprised how some people don't understand most Summer transfers get worked on for months or even a year (the top players) in advance.

Thus, this Summer, people need to relax and stop having a near mental meltdown every time some ass-clown on Twitter posts something. I mean, seriously, why do people think clubs/players are going to talk to some prat with a mobile about highly confidential financial deals? It doesn't happen as those ass-clowns are just in the click bait/wind up game.

From where I am standing, the change in direction this Summer has been a good thing and the club needs our support and patience. I mean, a move away from Kounde to MDL and the targeting of Sterling (if on reasonable fees/wages) are deals that are better than we/I thought we would get this year.

For me, a Summer of:

MDL, Sterling and maybe Raphinha along with getting rid of Lukaku is a positive.

Of course it isn't prefect, WB is a major concern for me for instance, but with everything that has gone on just buying a few quality additions, getting our transfer strategy to a better position and giving some of the kids an opportunity rather than just flushing them away to buy second rate options is a good thing.

Obviously, next Summer people will have more right to question things as everyone at the club would've had time. However, for now, lets get on with supporting the club, give the new guys our trust and save such comments such as 'pathetic' and 'monitoring fc' etc, until a time when such comments are deserved.

I’m firmly in the “take a punt on Neymar” camp now. Other wide options have evaporated.

If we can land our defensive targets I think we’d have a strong and hard working enough team around him to take a chance on him. I think his poorer form of late is more down to lack of motivation than diminishing ability. He’s only 30, not 35.

No thanks to CR7 unless Tuchel himself is keen. If it’s entirely Boehly led for commercial reasons then we have problems.

I was in that camp for a while if PSG were desperate to get him out, then he might have been worth a punt to take on loan on favourable terms.

But I actually think that form is less about motivation and more that injuries have taken their toll on him. He's had a lot of ankle problems in recent years and when you have a player who's numbers have been consistently dropping the last 3 - 4 seasons and he's now going to turn 31 during this season, I would have serious doubts he'd be able to give us what we'd be hoping for. The exact same reason to be honest why I don't think Hazard would be a good idea.

Yeah, I am only down for a Neymar Jr transfer if his Neymar Sr promises me a pass to one of his transfer orgies he likes to throw when Jr gets transferred.

No, but it is the end of summer holidays for players and they’re now back in training.

So while City will have Haaland, Alvarez, Phillips etc, Arsenal will have Jesus, Viera, etc, Spuds will have Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, etc in training bedding in with their new clubs and working with their new teammates and managers, Thomas Tuchel will be waiting around for who knows how much longer with no new faces.

Every club will be much further along in their preparation than we will if we don’t hurry up.

This is something that does make me laugh. 90% of this forum were against us signing Kounde and said he wasn't good enough.

It looks like he's no longer our number one priority and we're looking to bring in someone else who I think most people feel is an upgrade on Kounde.

Because that deal is a big one and we seem to have switched targets from pre takeover to post takeover it isn't going to happen overnight. People are complaining that it's taking time. People would have likely complained too if we'd already signed Kounde.

Can't seem to win.

Rice will be a Chelsea player this time next season. No point in signing the inferior version of him.

You don't know that. Still unknown if Rice was a club target.

Phillips would fit us better if we are after a natural ball playing DM.

To be fair we've got Gallagher and Broja coming back from loans, amongst a number of other players who may have the opportunity of breaking into the first team squad next season.

Gallagher and Broja on their own is £60-70m of talent.

Fair. But neither of those players will go straight into our first XI which is what we desperately need. Gallagher and Broja (maybe, if he isn’t sold) will be highly valuable squad players but they don’t elevate our best XI.

Rather have the right players in that miss pre season, than the wrong ones who take part In preseason

Why couldn’t we have the right players who were also in early? Like all of our rivals do?

The club deserve a bit of leeway due to the extraordinary ownership/board situation, but even then everyone expected at least 1 or 2 in by now.
