🚨🙄Chelsea ownership group BlueCo had a part to play in eventual sacking of Filipe Luis. Luis was talking to BlueCo group in December, and did not respond to Flamengo for 3 days during their own renewal process, but Luis later found out the potential deal was for Strasbourg, not to coach Chelsea, he then signed new deal with Flamengo.

Real Madrid star Rodrygo to miss World Cup with devastating ACL injury blow

https://talksport.com/football/4021307/rodrygo-acl-real-madrid-world-cup/

The forward played 35 minutes of Los Blancos' 1-0 defeat to Getafe on Monday night where he endured the devastating knee problem.

He was taken off, and after a scan, it has been revealed that the versatile attacker has suffered an ACL.

Rodrygo's also torn his MCL in the same knee as well, meaning he is likely to be out for up to ten months.

In a statement, Los Blancos said on Tuesday: "Following tests carried out today on our player Rodrygo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn lateral meniscus in his right leg."

The 25-year-old will now undergo surgery and start his rehabilitation. a

After being linked with a summer move to the Premier League, Rodrygo remained at the Bernabeu and has been a key player.

Across all competitions, he has played 27 games and has been used on the right and left wing and as a centre forward.

For his country, he has been an important player for Carlo Ancelotti.

Rodrygo played in all four of Brazil's international friendlies across October and November last year.

He scored twice and provided an assist, and given his versatility, he would have almost certainly been going to the World Cup.

No reunion

Rodrygo was one of the vocal members of the Brazil squad to be pushing for Neymar to receive a World Cup call-up.

The former Barcelona star is the country's all-time leading goalscorer with 79 goals, two more than Pele.

He is back in his home country playing for Santos, and has played Brazil's last four games.

However, there is still debate around his inclusion in the World Cup squad, though Rodrygo was adamant about it.

Speaking about Neymar, the Real Madrid star said: "It's logical. For me, in my opinion, there's not even a discussion.

"But we know, of course, he needs to be well, he has to be preparing, he is returning from knee surgery.

"It won't have the same grace to win without him, so we need him."

Cruelly, Rodrygo has now been denied the chance to play with Neymar, but it could give the superstar a better chance to seal a place in Ancelotti's squad.

Change in circumstance

Any decision on Neymar's place in the World Cup is being left until the last possible moment.

Brazil are said to be monitoring the player's fitness, given he is in his mid-30s.

However, he hasn't been called up for the friendlies against France and Croatia.

But with Rodrygo now injured, it remains to be seen if that changes.

Why would Morgan Rogers leave an ambitious Champions League club and come to the circus here?

London, our record for winning big trophies (even of late, as it was only 7 months ago we won the first ever REAL world football championship, one with almost very singlebig team on the planet in it, with only Barca missing, and technically Arse, although Arse, in 140 seasons of footie, have never won fuckall in terms of important Euro nor global trophies) ...

........and we simply have better players overall.

Villa are a rapidly ageing side for the most part as well. Their only 3 important players under 27yo sometime next season are

Amadou Onana  25yo next season
Ian Maatsen   turns 25yo in late winter 2026/27

and IF he stays, Morgan Rogers turns 24 this summer, before next season starts

plus the following will all be 30yo and up at some point next season

Emiliano Martínez turns 34yo
Tyrone Mings  turns 34yo
Lucas Digne 33yo
Ross Barkley turns 33yo
Victor Lindelöf   32yo
John McGinn   turns 32yo
Ollie Watkins    turns 31yo
Emiliano Buendía    turns 30yo
Pau Torres    turns 30yo
Youri Tielemans     turns 30yo

plus the following four all turn 30yo in summer or fall of 2027

Matty Cash
Leon Bailey
Tammy Abraham
Ezri Konsa

and finally

Douglas Luiz turns 30yo in the spring of the 2027/28 season

Bring Ndiaye from Everton, class player and better than Garnacho, Gittens, Neto and right now Palmer

Yep - looks a great player.

Happy with him or Rogers.

I get having some more nimble players that can dance around opponents but City did the right thing by getting a skilled bulldozer in Semenyo. We need the same out left. Rogers or Ndiaye to batter opponents a little while also being highly skilled.

Would love Rogers here but we have no money. Only possible if we sell somebody with a name.. I would honestly look at selling Enzo.

I agree. I wouldn't put him in the James, Caicedo category. If we are forced to sell, then he's the one big money player we can smartly turn over and still upgrade the position

Rogers is a good player but not entirely convinced he should be a priority this summer. Or at least not the first deal we do. GK & CB in any order then CF have to be the top 3. The can get another LW & CM. If theres cash for it….

And in all likelihood a LW will only happen if we offload any of the undesirables who play there currently - Mudryk, Garnacho or Gittens. Our options we had there was why we didn’t go for Semenyo was it not? If we did actually go him at all 😂🙄

Plus is Rogers not best as a 10? So Palmer sits on the bench or we shoehorn either Palmer onto the right with him central or Palmer centrally with Rogers onto the left? 🤦‍♂️

KDH has become a good player this year

He wasn't a bad player here, just played different roles for Maresca and put in a good shift for us in the Conference League games.

If the rumors are true and Everton goes for someone like Delap, watch him become a serviceable player again.

Mike Penders will be our next no 1.

We need to buy a serious CB who has leadership qualities.

I’m still not convinced J.Pedders should be our first choice striker either. I really like him and what he brings to the team but I’d still rather an Osimhen or another killer up top.

Then LW needs to be addressed.

Sell Neto, Enzo, Tosin, Jorgensen, Jackson, Garnacho & Delap.

Buy CB, ST, LW of high quality with the incoming additions of Emegha, Penders, & Quenda.

Jury still out on Penders, Quenda & Emegha to we see them in a Chelsea shirt.

Think a lot of people are in for a shock if they think they will bring anything different/more quality than what we already have. A lot of potential perhaps (as usual) but they won’t be the difference.

Agree though with the sales, barring Neto (frustrating because he could be so much better but he just doesn’t have that bit between his teeth) & maybe Enzo if we can get a more mobile player of similar technical quality, personally am all for it, blows hot and cold far too much. Not the sort of midfield player who is going to dominate big games.

Also agree on needing a top top 1 CB & CF. But won’t matter without a top GK - look at Liverpool pre Alisson. Top GKs are worth their weight in gold.

It will be a hundred percent loan players back in as opposed to buying big players in

The club has massively changed and I said before we won't see anymore massive signings, it will all be hope that the loan army can step up, coming with this is more missing out on top four and fighting for Europe and not titles

Knowing our current scouting team, they would just go shopping at Brighton again.    So far we have their 3rd choice GK, LB, DM, ST.

Penders has the talent to be #1 for years to come, would hate to see him sold on the cheap (unless of course someone like Donnarumma became available in the market)

Emegha hasn't played a game since November 2025, at least Lavia and Fofana will have a new buddy in the treatment room 😆

What a waste of money, we may as well keep Jackson next season as Delap is close to useless upfront.
