Chelsea Transfers

🗯Chelsea hope Semenyo, who is from London, will appreciate their long-term project and see an opportunity to make an immediate impact at a top club.

The view at Chelsea is that the 25-year-old would give their squad a different dimension. Semenyo would offer an added aerial threat and enviable pace and power.

Chelsea like Semenyo’s versatility and the fact he has proved himself in the Premier League. Semenyo can play on both flanks and as a striker.

Chelsea wants to revamp its midfield in the summer 2026.

If you added up 2 and 2 got 8 that's what this transfer was, he was never coming here with all our wingers, never in a million years

The last thing we need is another winger

Yep. If we hadn’t brought Gittens be a different story perhaps. But yeah. Top player wouldn’t of come here regardless probably.

Why enquire though? Thats the bit that makes 0 sense if there was no intentions of pursuing a deal. Just looks amateurish.

Just now, Strike said:

We looked a super exciting team in the summer after winning the CWC

Players are now clearly recognizing we are well below the levels of challenging for the league

And....stocked in the areas he can play because we have hemorrhaged stupid cash on wingers instead of being sensible and using it on defenders and a keeper

The close the eyes and pin the tail on the donkey has to stop

My question is why the fuck we’d brief everyone that we have registered our interest only to pull out (or be rejected) within a couple of hours? Why not brief everyone instead that “Chelsea are looking at attackers now with an eye on 2026?”

Feels like complete idiocy to tell every credible journalist a specific name and then instantly pull the rug after all our supporters got excited.

EXCL: Antoine Semenyo preference is to join Man City in January. Nothing formal until market opens but AFCB attacker favours MCFC. Man Utd pushed hard + never planned to use 25yo at wing-back but winter switch was always tough for MUFC.

The way City are trending now, if they get Semenyo and keep Haaland fit I think they could win everything again this season.

Sure must be nice to be a serious club. Buying plug and play quality rather than players you can tell will be shit before ever pulling on your shirt like Gittens.

🟢It is more likely that any attacking reinforcements for Chelsea will come in the summer transfer window. (@EveningStandard)

Reworded....

Chelsea will likely dodge another out and out number 9 and top class striker in the summer window

In his report linking us with Semenyo this morning Ornstein mentioned that any move for him would be us deciding to move forward our plans from summer 2026. How about instead of doing that with an attacker we do so for a midfielder?

Feel like that’s much more sensible than an attacker when we’re overloaded there now. In midfield Lavia has disappeared into the abyss again with no signs that he’s going to play again any time soon and Essugo is a mystery as well.

The more and more I see and look into us enquiring about Semenyo, the more and more it feels like one of three possible things.

One: a PR stunt. For the sakes of shits and giggles. Because well who’d be surprised.

Two: Them trying to make us look relevant; to show we are willing to pay top dollar to rival/attract the top top players the likes of Liverpool and City are after a long spell of questionable recruitment of younger/lesser known players - we know its been mentioned by the media & fanbase about the strategy at this club far and wide.

Three: Maybe to try please Maresca, the fallout from this outburst the other week has mentioned he reportedly wants some more experienced, top level players in the squad to push the team on. As opposed to youngsters that need time to develop.

Enquiring about him before realising we don’t need him as we are already stocked in wide areas though? Why even bother picking up the phone in the first place 😂

Also again. Another attacking linked but not one link to a top GK or top CB - when will they fucking learn….

For me it’s most likely #2. It sounds like Semenyo had made his mind up for quite a while that he’d go to City. He didn’t just decide today.

So our genius directors just wanted it out there that we “tried” (though we actually didn’t) so that supporters would stop getting angry that we aren’t trying.

Instead, it makes them look even worse.
