Hato has 2 PL starts in 10 games. Wouldn't call him anyone's darling.

When he starts over Acheampong who has been rested for the past two games, despite showing good form in his previous appearances, then yes - i have to ask why he gets a starting spot. If Acheampong returns to the starting 11 on Saturday over Chalobah or Fofana, I'll take back my comment. Until then, I'll question the intention of our squad planners.

Maresca has made 85 changes to his starting 11 this season. More than any other manager. It's a strategy driven from the top, by Winstanley & co. The manager is not that crazy.

Now signing Hato is being criticised?

He is a perfectly good LB/CB replacement for the bench at this stage.

We are two CBs of good quality away from competing.

We didn't need another "potential" defender.   We already have two decent young defenders out on loan in France and Germany.

Hincapie was right there and even though Arsenal had like 4 CB's and 2 LB's, they still went out and got him.

Talent hoarding is one thing but you also need to balance that with some experience as well.

Josh is the biggest example of Maresca and his constant chopping and changing- He has always performed very well and at a high standard, I do not buy 'they are kids are need to be protected' shite, if him and Estevao are pulling up trees, then start them

For these money since 22' you should to be better than just cup team with zero consistency  beat Liverool , be shit vs Sunderland beat spursy be shit next game . But when you get only kids without experience around them at top level is  what you get .

In your eyes, what makes him a "perfectly good" backup player? He has been quite awful in every game he played. Shaky, weak passing, offer nothing offensively, bad tackles.

He is super young, I don't want to write him off, but it's certainly underwhelming what he has done so far, for someone like me who didn't watch him at Ajax I don't see yet what was the hype and price tag about. He cannot even be a starter with Fofana, Badiashile and Colvill unavailable, and doesn't put any stress on Cucurella either.

For counter example, Gittens definetly hasn't find his best form/position either, but he had some games/periods where we can see he is indeed super talented and got valuable skills. With Hato, I fail to see at this point what he is supposed to be outstanding at and what will make him a starter in the future.

Eyong: "Dream to play for Chelsea"

Chelsea already added forwards Liam Delap and Joao Pedro over the summer but are always alert to market opportunities, especially with up-and-coming talents. There is no indication yet whether Chelsea will advance their interest, but Eyong would certainly give serious consideration to a move to West London.

“Growing up, Chelsea was the English team I probably watched the most because of Drogba, and Eto'o was there was a year as well. Chelsea have often signed incredible African players. There are so many big clubs in England, but as for [joining] Chelsea, why not? It would be a dream for me to play for Chelsea."

Chelsea have remained in contact with Antonio Rüdiger’s entourage as they remain interested in a reunion with the player.

This is against the club's policy of buying Under-23 kids though 😄

Chelsea eye TWO elite CB signings, including Liverpool transfer target

Chelsea are eyeing up two central defenders as potential targets, with the Blues weighing up whether to move for a signing in that position in January or next summer.

There’s been plenty to cheer about at Stamford Bridge this season after a strong start by Enzo Maresca’s side, though defence looks like one area of weakness in this squad.

According to Simon Phillips, this has led to Chelsea exploring two options to potentially come in and bolster Maresca’s defence - Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo, and Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez.

As previously reported here, Araujo is also a target for Liverpool, with the Reds also scouring the market for new signings in that position amid doubts over Ibrahima Konate’s future.

Chelsea like Ronald Araujo but Joel Ordonez transfer fits their strategy better

According to Phillips, Chelsea have had Araujo on their list for some time, with the Uruguay international a proven player at the highest level after some strong displays for Barcelona down the years.

However, the reporter also notes that the Blues tend to prefer to stick to their policy of recruiting the best young talent in world football, so that could steer them towards Ordonez instead.

The talented 21-year-old is also someone who Moises Caicedo knows well as they’re Ecuador international teammates.

Some Chelsea fans may well be keen to see the club go for at least one or two more proven players, but there are also signs now that the long-term project put in place under this ownership is starting to bear fruit.

Chelsea eyeing other elite young talents

Another exciting player on Chelsea’s radar at the moment is Como playmaker Nico Paz, who is also being eyed for a return to Real Madrid.

Another young attacking midfielder to watch could be Kenan Yildiz, as previously reported by Fabrizio Romano and others.

🟤️Chelsea failed with an offer worth €67m for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz in July, but they are ready to return. The Blues are likely to face competition from Real Madrid and Arsenal. Majority shareholder John Elkann plans to intervene to find a resolution on a renewal with Juventus. If there is no progress, he will be sold at a minimum of €100m next summer. 🔵Chelsea are actively compiling an eye-catching shortlist of midfield targets.

Enzo Maresca is keen to strengthen in the middle of the park. With injuries plaguing key personnel and squad depth stretched thin, he believes the Blues need another midfielder to push for trophies this season.

immediate solutions for the second half of the season and longer-term planning for 2026.

️Palace and England sensation Wharton sits atop the wishlist. The 21-year-old has impressed with his maturity, vision, and ability to dictate tempo from deep.

Chelsea 's recruitment team see him as a future cornerstone. However, Palace remain resolute: no mid-season sale. A January bid would demand a nine-figure sum prohibitive even for Chelsea’s ambitious owners. Insiders suggest any deal is far more plausible in the summer of 2026, giving both clubs time to negotiate.

🟠A more immediate possibility, however, is Nico Paz, the 21-year-old Spanish playmaker currently shining at Como.

Chelsea have made direct enquiries to both the Serie A club and Paz’s representatives. The former Real Madrid youth product is intrigued by a Premier League move, viewing Chelsea as an ideal platform to showcase his creativity and left-footed flair. Como, backed by wealthy ownership, are determined to retain their starlet, but a substantial offer could test their resolve. Paz fits Chelsea’s data-led model: young, high-upside, and resale potential.

🔴Perhaps the most intriguing name on Chelsea’s radar is Kobbie Mainoo. The Manchester United teenager is growing frustrated with limited minutes under Ruben Amorim and is open to a loan move to secure regular football.

Chelsea believe he aligns perfectly with their youth-focused strategy homegrown, dynamic, and technically gifted.

🟡The urgency stems from Romeo Lavia’s persistent injury woes. Once heralded as a transformative signing, the Belgian has struggled for continuity.

Some at Chelsea now whisper that a summer 2026 sale could be on the cards, freeing wages and squad space for a major midfield addition.

🟢Meanwhile, another outlet has backed up our information that Chelsea have now launched an ' official encuiry ' for Como star Paz, as they eye a January deal for the youngster.
