If I were the capo di tuti Chelsea sporting directors here's an idea I would explore...

Encourage Real to make an offer, send some of their money to Villa in exchange for Rogers, and have him replace the departed Fernandez in our squad. Hear me out, I did say 'explore'...

I haven't seen Rogers playing that role so I can't confirm it would suit him, but I do feel very strongly that it would. I think he can match Enzo's contribution in those areas of the pitch, plus bring a higher level of technical proficiency. I know many people here, whose opinions I respect, think very highly of Enzo but I can't quite get there, and I wonder if they would agree that technique is not his best attribute?

If I wasn't too lazy to make the effort to understand those spider web charts the data analysts love, I'm sure that the Rodgers chart would give me a clue as to whether my idea is a possibility. Of course if I was the head of recruitment I would already know how the read them. I'd know what basic shape I'd be looking for. As it is though I'm stuck with the old fashioned ways.

He is very good in FC25 with Quickstep Playstyle. Is he good in real life?

At LB can see shades of Ashley, can see him having similar trajectory if he were to focus on that position moving forward, even tho for me he has the skills to be good at upto 4 positions.

I like how different he plays between LB and CB.he doesnt look like a LB being shoehorned into a position he's not comfortable in.he adapts his game to look very natural there.(he started out as a CB and continues to play there when required)

I don't really want us to sign a CB* this window it's just nice to have the added option when a much more needed LB can do both.

* Scalvini if he didnt have those recent injuries i'd be all over..wouldnt be against Guehi rejoining but otherwise think we should work with what we got.

Chelsea have informed Manchester United on conditions of deal for Nicolas Jackson. Manchester United still discussing their striker target internally and sales will be important. Chelsea are not desperate to sell the striker.

I would tell United £70m + add ons for Jackson. They payed that for Hojlund and Nico is miles better than him.

If United are involved at all, I have a bad feeling that Garnacho will be tied to the deal somehow 😁

More on James Trafford and Manchester City exclusive story.

Contacts between Man City and Burnley have already started as City want to negotiate fee lower than buy back clause worth £40m.

Deal also depends on Ortega or Éderson exit.

Manchester City considering move for James Trafford to return to the club this summer…

…but only if one of their two main GKs leaves.

Contacts took place in the recent days as Man City have buy back clause, this is why Newcastle deal is not sealed yet.

Understand Renato Veiga is on the shortlist for Atlético Madrid. There are more options, but Atlético are monitoring Veiga’s situation.

The 21 y/o versatile defender could leave Chelsea if a suitable offer arrives. Price valuation: €30–35 million. Many enquiries have also been made. His contract runs until 2031.

Chelsea admire Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.

He is on their shortlist of goalkeepers.

Joe Shields is a big fan of James Trafford.

Newcastle United, Villarreal, and Juventus have all made inquiries and are in the race to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi (27).

If NJ has to join another PL team, this seems like the smartest piece of business we could do.

Not sold on Simons coming him & doing much, tbh.
