I meant his injury record

I can see why we bought him

I know. I'm saying they persevered because of the reason I mentioned. He did play 29 league games for Southampton (only out injured early on for a stretch of 8 games), so there wasn't much indication of his woes.

At the end of the day, we should have been cautious no matter given his age.

Fofana is too often injured to depend on and too often injured to sell. Who would buy a player who will be seemingly nailed on to miss huge chunks of every season? Nobody unless it’s back to France on loan with us covering his whole salary. Such a fucking shame too I was so excited about his signing. He looked nailed on to go to the very top before that catastrophic knee injury at Leicester.

An experienced CB is an absolute must this summer.

Why is Werner's name alongside the two flops?   At least Werner can say he was part of the side that won the UCL with Tuchel.

Gittens would suit Liverpool/Arsenal way more and where would he play with the likes of the Brazilian and Portuguese attackers joining us next season.

I’m just mentioning him because of the expectation vs what we actually got. Yes, he played a key part in an important stretch for us but when he was bought he was one of the most lethal finishers in Europe and we hoped we’d get a 15-20 goal per season forward. Instead he never lived up to that final Leipzig season he had and still hasn’t come close since.

I was keen on David at one point and the more and more I watched him play... no thanks.

He doesn't have anything special to his game. He floats. He actually hurts link up a lot. He is horrendous for Canada.

I'd take Rogers from Villa, but they'd never sell.

Might be time to get rid.

Shame since he is our best CB when he plays.

Rogers is a winger though, not a CF

🟣Chelsea are scouting 20 years old Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo.

🔴Chelsea have entered the race for Hugo Etitike according to Simon Phillips and are scouting intensively.

🟢Chelsea have already set their sights on 17-year-old Malian youngster Seydou Dembélé and have made an opening offer of €1.6 million for his services.

(Africafoot)

️Renato Veiga is unlikely to stay at Juventus.  His adventure at Juventus appears to be nearing its end. No talks are currently planned between the two clubs to extend his stay in Italy.

NONE of these are good enough

Levi Colwill
Wesley Fofana
Benoît Badiashile
Axel Disasi
Bashir Humphreys
Alfie Gilchrist

maybe ok (barely) as back-ups

Tosin Adarabioyo
Trevoh Chalobah

we also have unproven Anselmino, and Veiga who noone knows whether is good enough - didn't get a chance as CB for us, started good for Juve, but then whole Juve team fall apart

Mikel reveals Victor Osimhen really wants to play for Chelsea FC :

“Listen, it will be really sad if we don’t get a player who supported us a kid and wants to play for this Football Club”

“His idol is Drogba, he will want to break records, win us trophies, get us back to the top, come for Drogba’s records. I’m telling you that would be his mission”

“If the club chose not to pursue it.. then well fair enough, good luck to them, but the good thing about it is we know where we left it, we can literally pick the phone up and get him straight in the door”

“Get him in!” (@obionepodcast)

Dušan Vlahović has become absolute dross

I will no longer include him in any CF list

Agreed. In general I don't want any of the Vlahovics of the world unless we're picking them up on very favourable deals.

The pure-finisher type like him can fall off a cliff too easily, when the only thing being provided is finishing and they go through a bad spell at their only elite skill... Basically become a passenger. Sometimes they stay a passenger for years, or just never get it back to the level required. We've signed endless strikers like that over the years and they never work out over the long term.

I'd really like to see us only spend big on players who can be a menace even when they're not scoring, and improves us just by being on the field and going about their craft. If we sub out NJ for a pure goal scorer it will net out at 0 improvement probably (or maybe we get worse).

Liam Delap is one of various interesting options although I'm sure you have a thorough list on this already.

I know people on here don't like him but Osimhen is that player.   I just feel like he's got the athleticism/power to do well in the Premier League.

The sad part is, we have 3 starting XI players who can't stay fit for 5 games in a row (James, Fofana, Lavia).

Then we have all these young players who haven't been tested out yet.   I still don't get why Veiga was sent to Juve on loan, surely there were other clubs that could have given him some decent minutes for development?
