TheHulk 2,443
5 hours ago, Vesper said: Exclusive: Chelsea 'Set to Consider Selling' £47m Star in January https://www.givemesport.com/Chelsea-transfer-news-set-to-consider-selling-felix-january-stamford-bridge/ Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is on course to hold discussions with Joao Felix over his future as there is a determination to discover whether he wants to make a quickfire exit from Stamford Bridge ahead of contending with enquiries during the winter transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed. The Blues showed plenty of ambition during the summer, with Pedro Neto being the most expensive acquisition thanks to completing a £54million switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and it has paid off as they have gone into the festive period as table-topping Liverpool's closest challengers for the Premier League title. Felix was also among the big-names to arrive at Chelsea, but he has found regular game time difficult to come by and may be weighing up whether to embark on a fresh challenge when Maresca has already confirmed that Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are likely to push for a mid-season move. Blues Ready to Enter Talks Over Felix's Future West Londoners expecting enquiries during winter transfer window Chelsea are set to consider selling Felix when they use the coming days to discuss his situation after being starved of regular opportunities since returning to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in August, according to GMS sources, and there is an awareness behind the scenes that he will not be satisfied with playing a bit-part role. Having previously enjoyed a period on loan with the west Londoners, the Portugal international sealed a switch worth in the region of £47million from La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid to facilitate Conor Gallagher's move in the opposite direction, but he has been forced to contend with stiff competition. GMS sources have been informed that Chelsea are bracing themselves for enquiries over Felix's availability when the transfer window reopens on January 1, leading to Maresca and influential figures behind the scenes wanting to hold talks over his wishes before making a decision on the stance they will take when interested parties come calling. Although the Blues are in a strong negotiating position ahead of their resolve potentially being tested as the attacking midfielder still has more than six-and-a-half years remaining on a contract which allows him to pocket up to £170,000-per-week when bonuses are triggered, they do not want to force him to stay if he is unhappy. Chelsea are not actively looking to offload Felix, GMS sources have learned, but they promised they would treat him fairly when he made the move back to the capital as he has been attempting to get his career back on track after struggling to win over Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone. GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Joao Felix has been averaging a goal every 82 minutes in the UEFA Conference League this season, having found the back of the net four times in three starts Maresca Wants to Understand Felix's Feelings Doubts over determination could lead to sanctioning departure GMS sources have been told that Chelsea will use the imminent discussions with Felix to gauge whether he is prepared to persist with trying to win a place in Maresca's preferred starting line-up and, in a significant twist a matter of months after his arrival, doubts over his determination will result in them toying with the idea of cashing in. The 25-year-old has been limited to just 307 minutes of Premier League action this season, with seven of his nine appearances coming from the bench, and the possibility of him being allowed to embark on a fresh challenge ahead of the February 3 transfer deadline has not been ruled out at this stage. Chelsea are desperate to gain knowledge of Felix's true feelings before any offers come in, GMS sources understand, and Maresca may use fixtures against Fulham and Ipswich Town before the turn of the year to tempt him to remain in his current surroundings instead of moving onto pastures new. The former Benfica talisman was recently ranked as the eighth-best player in the UEFA Conference League by GMS, but there is an awareness behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge that he wants to be heavily involved in domestic action as well as on the European stage during the remainder of the campaign. All statistics courtesy of Sofascore - correct as of 24/12/2024 Would be so dumb to let him go when he hasn't even been given a chance. Maresca is playing Palmer every match and minute even when he has a bad game. mkh, Vesper and kexik

Don't worry if he gets sold his replacement will have the same issue as him, Maresca has clear favoritism all over Palmer and Jackson when Felix and Nkunku are more than good enough to come in and change a game. milka 3,393
CB , GK and ST , Jackson can't be trusted to scores in every game as backup is fine . Colwill needs an experienced partner by his side, like Cahill who had Terry by his side in the time and he became a solid defender . Sanchez has had MOTM performances last two games and trending upwards. If Nkunku goes, Delap would be awesome - looks a winner. CB is a position of need. They just need to get someone experienced and surefire starter like you said. Our midfield is best in league when healthy, but Lavia is constantly out. A lot of people are high on Santos, but I'd be interested to see if he can replicate what he does in the French league here. I watched some games and he seems to have a lot of time on the ball - hard to gauge if he is as good as made out to be or if the league just suits him really well. Rumours have it that Maresca was never keen on signing him, and the club "convinced" him about going ahead with it, so these sorts of headlines don't surprise me. If a possible attacking target became available, we shouldn't be opposed to letting him go. mkh

He could be used - for example in games like Everton where teams board up. But regularly, he's not close to Palmer's effectiveness

How many PL matches has Lavia missed now? With surely many more to come. Instead of having to invert Gusto into midfield or have Disasi playing at all I’d much rather see a proper midfielder there. Ugo for me isn’t close to Chelsea quality. I dunno man, you speak with a lot of confidence that he would get plenty of minutes but the fact is he's been shipped off on loan twice and got basically no game time in his PL loan. He is currently playing for a 13th placed Ligue 1 team. We are second in the Premier League man. It is very unlikely that Santos is ready to play a lot of minutes for a team at our level. It would only be out of complete desperation he would play in my opinion - Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo all out and maybe he gets considered, but even then I am not sure he would play - probably Enzo would look to Gusto, Cucurella and even KDH first. Fernando 6,585
Yeah a striker to compete with Jackson. Cannot rely on him when he blows hot and cold. Defense no need to say as we all know about that. Still a solid to build, I think fix those areas and we are definitely tittle contenders next season. mkh 581
🤔Madueke has had three strikes by Maresca, one in August about training, another before Aston Villa about training again, and now what we can only assume as strike three by Maresca. The competition has to be higher. Renato Veiga was left out for the same reason as Madueke. Not only Noni but also Renato Veiga” Chelsea have no thoughts of selling yet in January. (@kierangill_DM) 💬Enzo Maresca on Ipswich Town's Liam Delap: "Fantastic player. Also for his age. We spent one year [at Man City] and he scored 24 goals. He’s working hard off the ball. On the ball he understands the game. He can be an important player for England."🔵 Fernando
DH1988 1,348
No surprise with Noni there, he will end up gone if he continues, I'm sure he'd be happy at a Newcastle or something, on high'ish wages and continuing his off the field lifestyle. Perhaps use in a makeweight for Isak, not that I want to sell Noni but his attitude has been a constant constant constant issue, rollercoaster. mkh and Fernando
