N’Golo Kante has been linked with Barcelona recently but is now being tipped to sign a new contract at Chelsea.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season which has prompted speculation he could be on the move.

Barca’s financial situation means they are being linked with a host of free agents, including Kante, but it seems now that the midfielder could continue at Stamford Bridge after all.

David Ornstein at The Athletic is reporting that Chelsea have made “positive progress” on talks over a new deal for Kante and there is “increasing confidence” he will stay.

The deal is not quite done yet with an agreement over the length of Kante’s new contract still yet to be reached. Chelsea have suggested two years but Kante wants a longer deal.

Barcelona signed Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso on free transfers from Chelsea last summer and had been tipped to return to west London in 2023 for Kante.

Report: Kouadio Kone Has Been Recommended To Chelsea

Chelsea have been recommended Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone.

Chelsea have a goal of signing two midfielders in the coming windows. One of those midfielders will be expected to be a massive investment, like Declan Rice. The other will likely cost a bit less.

There are a number of midfielders on the list for Chelsea. Romeo Lavia is a name that keeps popping up with Chelsea certainly interested in his signature.

Kouadio Kone is a player that has been recommended to the club in recent weeks.

According to Simon Phillips, new technical director of Chelsea Christopher Vivell has been recommended the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone.

It is not the first time a Premier League club has been linked to Kone. Manchester United had small interest in the midfielder in the summer transfer window, but never made a move.

Kone is 21-years old and is also referred to as Manu Kone. He can play central midfield and defensive midfield.

The French midfielder signed for Monchengladbach from Toulouse in January 2021 for €9million, and has went from strength to strength for the German side since.

Enzo is also magnet for success.

First he played on loan from River Plate to Defensa y Justicia. Against all odds they finished 2nd in Argentinian league and won Copa Sudamericana which is like Europe League. And after that they won SuperCup by beating continental champion Palmeiras. Then he returned to River and won the league. Benfica is flying this season and we know what happened with Argentina. All this in just 119 career games and a little bit over 2 years. Things are moving so quickly for him.

To be honest, i hope we don't renew them. Kante is almost finished, and keep playing jorginho-kante-kovavic in the next couple years doesn't get us anywhere, if we want to closer our gap with liverpool or city.

Enzo is on absolutely different level and if our manager able to use him in the right system, could transform our midfield instantly and massively.

Enzo feels like a dream signing though

hmm Enzo to Chelsea seems to be gathering pace, let’s wait and see. Interesting 😏

Is it? I still think there is a deadlock and I am skeptic of Boehly-Eghbali being able to navigate this.

Benfica have no choice but to sell if release clause is triggered. Chelsea won't trigger the clause (FFP, needs 120m to be given in one go). Benfica have enough reasons to reject a payment structure proposed by Chelsea (Champions League run, League title push, definite interest in the summer)

In before we sign some lad(s) for £100m+ each and they develop knee/muscle/something problems and spend 70% of every season for the next 3-5 years injured before we repeat the cycle. Honestly feels like the club has come up with some kind of strategy for buying players based on data but decisions are not risk adjusted at all. Feels a bit like they are treating the player roster like a group of assets in the same way you might with shares, and trying to build essentially a growth portfolio/index where you just invest in players who are quickly rising in the data and don't concern yourself with whether or not they are 10x over valued already or a risky buy that you might need to sell for 30% of what you paid.

Having said all of that, would be excited like everyone else if we sign him... Excited but nervous...

Interesting how market works.. 6 months ago, this guy played in Argentina, wasn't even NT member, Benfica bought him for 10 million. Now we are ready to pay 100-120 million which would mean tons of playing time for hime.

Last summer, we payed 40 million for Casedei and Chukwuemeka. Why we didn't sign Enzo back then? Aren't we scouting in South America? He was available for 10.. If we signed him, he would probably on loan now, not even make it into national team.
