Barca really are a disgracefully run club. To go balls to the wall signing 10 players when their wage situation is catastrophic is insane.

Hopefully we can swoop in and take advantage with De Jong and perhaps one of their strikers.

One thousand times.

You're misunderstanding what I think the 'silliness' is. 🙂

I think the continuing narrative that every evil under the sun is Marina's fault is what's silly. Now, the actual problem, I agree that has happened many, many times. 🙁

Like I said last night, if we genuinely want De Jong I feel like we have to move very quickly now. United were embarrassed yesterday and are in scrape the bottom of the barrel desperation mode in the market looking at names like Arnautovic and Rabiot. They’ll be at the point soon where they’ll be on their knees offering De Jong to write his own contract terms.

If they don’t sort their midfield out this week they could be looking at an Arsenal of last season start where they go 0 points from their first 9 available.

So if we want him it needs to be within the next couple of days.

It looks like De Jong still has no more interest in leaving than Dembele did. Indeed, it's not unreasonable to suspect that he's in sympathy with Barcelona's plight and is willing to help them in every way, short of giving up the money he is owed or leaving the club. At the very least he seems ready to wait while Barca find and pull every lever they can think of.

Aubameyang, deepay or zaha all three of those names I wouldn't mind at this stage,  We saw the everton game it was pretty much sterling being the focal point in attack.

It wont work in the long run we need more attacking options the season is long and we compete on 4 fronts.  Players such as timo, odoi leaving shame it didn't work out but its problably for the best. And pulisic i'm a fan of his I think he has world class potential   but can he stay injury-free ? and havertz there's a lot of questions marks when I look at our current attackers.

Ziyech he was a superb  in ajax, but he's been way too inconsistent here in Chelsea maybe he will prove me wrong down the line if he stays who knows only god knows.
But right now we need to strengthen people brush you off when say names like Aubameyang, deepay or zaha.

Have peolpe forgot what Aubameyang did in arsenal golden boot, being compared to henry, depay rebuilding his career going to lyon staring well for barcelona before injuries, and zaha when having a good day and motivated his unstoppable.

Yeah, I think this is a pretty good read on the situation. He seems pretty desperate to stay.

Unless Barca themselves tell him straight up that he HAS to go I think he will pull a Dembele in the end and reduce his salary.

Sky Sports reporting United have agreed a deal for Rabiot so I would assume they're moving on from De Jong now.

I think De Jong would be an outstanding signing if we could get him and really answers a lot of question marks over the makeup of our midfield from next season onwards with Jorginho's and Kante's contracts expiring.

However I don't think it's a position we should force a move. There may be some excellent options come up on the market next summer, namely Bellingham and Rice who we could look to position ourselves to try and buy.

So for me this summer it's De Jong or no one in midfield, and as a result we're in a position really where we can wait it out and see whether Barca try to force him out or not.

Getting Werner, Lukaku, Barkley, Kepa, and CHO out in one summer would be crazy. Ziyech and RLC links have died, unfortunately. And I wish they were all permanent instead of mostly loans. I’d upgrade Pulisic if given the chance as well but that’s probably too much turnover at once.

No, they haven't.

As things stand, there isn't any agreement between Juventus and United for Adrien Rabiot. Both clubs are still talking.
