I would rate Sane over Gnabry, perhaps, but he is on insane wages. At least £327K PW. We also have been linked hard with Coman (who, IF he was always healthy, is better than either, but he is never healthy for long stretches) over the past several years, so we deffo like Bayern wingers.

Does Bayern really pay any of their players like that? My understanding is that most of their starting 11 are on fairly modest wages in the grand scheme

Yes for their star players. The likes of Coman, Sane, Gnabry, Kimmich, Goretzka, Neuer, and Muller are paid in the region of €15m - €20m/ year

You guys clearly haven't been watching Sane recently. There is a reason he is being shipped around. He has been utterly abysmal recently, to the point that he became a joke over here. I hope we stay way clear of him, would be huge money down the drain yet again.

Above I posted the breakdown which has gross pay and net pay after taxes he’s only on like £176k

 

Interestingly our squad wages are not bad. But Mason and Reece need improved deals asap.

With you on Sane. He's physically gifted but his footballing IQ has never improved. He'll have those wow moments with his speed and left foot but disappears far too often. 

Bayern have the right thinking preferring to keep Gnarby over him.

I'm pretty sure some of the wages listed on there are somewhat underestimated.

Best starting point would be to look at the 20/21 season which is the season covered by the club's latest confirmed financial statement. Capology lists that season's total player wages, also including some of the loan army, at £148M for the year while the club's official financial statement says wages were an expense of £332M for the 20/21 financial year. Sure the latter figure also includes all non-playing staff as well as academy players but surely the first team squad's wage bill is more than 44% of overall wage expenses?

But yeah, no matter how accurate they are it's still obvious Mount, James and even Mendy seriously stand out because of how low their salaries are. It's not exactly right that three of the first names on the team sheet are earning the least wages in all of the first team squad.
