We need to keep an eye on whether Russia invades Ukraine. Could have massive implications for cash flow for the club, transfers etc

US anti Corruption campaigner Bill Browder has said oligarchs such as Abramovich must be targeted with sanctions -Liz Truss has also mooted this, even if they dont invade.

Chelsea could enter a Transfer Deadline Day bidding war with West Ham for Leeds United forward Raphinha. #CFC are keen to boost their attacking talents for the second half of the season. @RhysDalySport

Would be delighted if we made a move for him. Top player. But would mean that surely someone’s leaving in attack?

AZZURRI DOCTOR CASTS DOUBT ON SPINAZZOLA RETURNING THIS SEASON

https://football-italia.net/azzurri-doctor-casts-doubt-on-spinazzola-returning-this-season/

Azzurri doctor Andrea Ferretti finds it hard to imagine Leonardo Spinazzola returning to action for Roma this season.

The 28-year-old Italian full back exploded onto the European scene last summer during Euro 2020, being a star for the Azzurri in their early run in the competition. He suffered a Achilles tendon rupture during the quarter-final match against Belgium, and he has not played a single minute of football since.

Speaking on radio programme Il Diabolico e il Divino, Doctor Ferretti discussed Spinazzola’s injury and estimated when the player will be fit enough to play again.

“This is a very serious accident for a footballer. History teaches us that recovery is very slow. I saw Spinazzola again just before Christmas and he was very optimistic, even though he knew he wouldn’t be back anytime soon.

“But the tests on the pitch haven’t started yet. I think his realistic return is at the beginning of next season, with the prospect of being fully fit for the World Cup.”

This estimation means that Spinazzola will also miss Italy’s key World Cup playoff matches against North Macedonia and the winner of Portugal-Turkey, a big loss for coach Roberto Mancini.

The Azzurri coach is currently in Coverciano preparing for the games with the 35 players that he’s called up, which includes Adana Demirspor forward Mario Balotelli.

Quiet day expected at Chelsea

Sky Sports News' Gary Cotterill at Stamford Bridge:

"We'll keep tabs on things, but it's expected to be pretty quiet in terms on incomings at Chelsea.

"They're still looking for a replacement for Ben Chilwell down the left-hand side, but it seems pretty unlikely now given that he is out injured until the end of the season.

"Kenedy may be well going out again on loan and perhaps Ross Barkley, if he's offered more minutes by anybody.

"In terms of big names coming into Chelsea, I don't think they're going to happen."

What happens if Alonso gets a bad injury 1 week after the window closes? We just play Pulisic at LWB for the rest of the season? Play Sarr there who looks like a fish out of water?

Just incredibly dumb that we haven’t brought anyone in there.

Granny: Hello, can I please speak with Mr Pizy?

Pizy: Yes, this is Mr Pizy, could I ask who is speaking?

Granny: This is Marina Granovskaia, Director of Chelsea Football Club. As you may have noted, we are currently short on left backs and was wondering what your availability was for the next five months?

Pizy: (speaking excitedly) I am most certainly free if you need me!

Granny: Fantastic news! Well then Mr Pizy, grab your boots and let's blow some minds; let's blow some minds.......

If we give a Kenedy a shot at LWB, then i will grudgingly accept that. but if we send him out on loan again and decide to either run Alonso into the gorund or switch to back 4 when he physically cant run anymore I am seriously done with the board. We cant make our  tactical set up depend on the fitness of a certified snail.

Leeds were supposedly interested, so it seems like he will be staying put & potentially used as leverage for Raphinha.
