Chelsea Transfers

If we’ve heard ZERO from Matt Law, any of the other reliable Chelsea sources, or the Here We Go guy about Dembele then there’s nothing in it. Just junk reporting from random dudes in Spain who are stirring stuff for clicks. They’re putting our name out there because we are the only club that were loosely linked with him at one point.

Nah. Same thing with what I said regarding Dortmund.

There isn't going to be a step up or a move to a team of similar calibre for CHO if he can't make it here, so he'll have to choose between being a bench player or a starter at a lesser club.

Who in Spain could want him? Barcelona are broke. Real Madrid are going after Mbappe and maybe Haaland as well. Atletico are probably the only one.

Barcelona are seemingly broke but linked with players on a daily basis. If they really want to make a push, they'd find a way.

The president of Barca said recently something along the lines of they are ‘ready to make big moves again in the transfer market’ so them being skint, would take it with a pinch of salt. The salary cap is likely what is fucking them more than anything just now re registering player. Although again, would expect this big moves in the market thing to be more meaning in the summer as this is when clubs normally make these big moves in the market. Plus they are reportedly set to be offered huge £67m a year sponsorship deal in the summer as they are negotiating this with a few potential sponsors. IIRC they got a €500m loan from Goldman Sachs in 2021 right after the end of last season.

This club X, Y or Z being skint narrative is all well and good but the supposed clubs are contradicting it heavily also. Juve are making a big signing this window in Vlahovic, Inter are buying Goosens this month, close to agreeing a summer deal for Bremer from Torino and are also heavily suspected to approach Dybala too for next summer which will apparently cost a lot in wages, around €10m per yesr. Barca went and signed Ferran Torres for 50 odd million too (albeit structured in instalments).

If they are really that skint, why are these things happening? They must be able to manoeuvre some sort of money around to get these deals done/make moves.

They have mostly been linked with cheap players/free agents, no? It's no secret that their debt is still over 1 million and that they have been trying to bring down their wages to meet La Liga's salary cap rules.

Levi Colwill may be ready. he really looks a potential beast

Levi Colwill tipped for Chelsea breakthrough as youngster is set for Frank Lampard emulation - football.london834681d2526bac34b67b92303558630e.pngTheSecretScout on Twitter: "Levi Colwill - Scouted Age - 17 Position - Centre Back Foot - Left Club - Chelsea https://t.co/et5P4ZKhnR via @YouTube https://t.co/DD2RTyN27O" / TwitterLevi Colwill pushing for Chelsea chance next season? – Sports – FootBall Sport

I think Colwill will be better served having another year on loan, hopefully being able to step up to playing for a team in the Prem.

With the likes of Mount and James stepping up immediately from the Championship they were at least walking into a squad they had a very good chance of playing regularly within. I don't think Colwill is in that position yet, even more so if we were to play with a back 4 more often moving forward. Whilst Tuchel rotates the midfielders and attackers a lot, he doesn't do it nearly as much with the defence unless players are unavailable.

I think coming back to play 4th or 5th choice won't help him. He needs chance to develop further. Gallagher and Broja probably would have experienced something similar here this year if they'd stayed and going out on loan has really seen their development reach a new level.

Whilst Sarr isn't the greatest on the ball he has filled in admirably recently and defensively has been pretty good in recent games. He reminds me of Zouma somewhat where I don't think he's good enough to be playing regularly but he's solid and dependable as a squad option.

The best thing in my opinion Chelsea could do is retain Sarr for another year as a squad player and loan out Colwill for a year in the hope he kicks on even more and can come back in the summer of 2023 to take Thiago Silva's place in the squad, as I assume that will likely be the time he decides to go back to Brazil.

Conte should have just stayed at Inter. ;)

It's all noise. They might not be powering over the rest of the respective teams in their leagues, but they aren't strapped for cash either & normal business will resume.

They just bought Torres & are linked with Morata. As @OneMoSalah mentioned, wages are the issue for them. Also, they have a few players that could rake in a decent fee for them, de Jong being one of them.

Reece James is back in training. Kenedy recalled and we bought Derby's LB. Don't know why you expect more.

If I see Kenedy starting a match in a Chelsea shirt again I may vomit. 🤢

Well, they haven't sold the likes of De Jong, have they?

Who to believe in this one - Simon Phillips or an actual, reliable English media outlet?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/jan/25/vitor-pereira-is-farhad-moshiris-no-1-choice-to-replace-benitez-at-everton

Andy Hunter’s prediction might prove to less than what Simon Phillips is reporting.
