Chelsea Transfers

I actually like Chels even more for not buying hyped poster boys like PSG, Real, Barca and co do. I enjoy underdogs like Kova, Silva and even Lukaku way more, than FIFA-style bs, not to mention not dealing with Raiola is always a reason to respect the club.

Was never going to happen. Chelsea offer €130M, knowing agent fee will be at least €30M and father €20M. That is at least €180M outlay before salary and there was no counter. I would say we offered more than anyone expected from anyone this window.

OLBG’s study claims Raiola makes £796,345 for every deal he makes - that’s in comparison to Jorge Mendes, who cashes in around £505,307 and the £153,073 Jonathan Barnett brings in per deal.

You guys are extremely overstating Raiola. He has been made a much bigger villain than he really is.

they would've negotiated if we have put more money on the table.

You don't know that, do we? The Athletic's reporters said Dortmund refused to negotiate and neither Haaland nor Raiola pushed for the move to happen, unlike Lukaku in the other situation. That suggests Haaland isn't desperate to join us and wants to have the club of his choosing next year.

People just need to stop thinking that clubs will automatically big money for their players. Clubs like Dortmund aren't stupid. They are well managed and they would have assessed all the possible scenarios over selling Haaland this summer and next summer. Yes, it may look stupid that they will receive less money when they sell him next summer but he is too important for them, especially having sold Sancho. Retaining him means they will give themselves a high chance of finishing in the Top 4 again (getting all that CL money) and maybe another cup to go with their sporting ambition. It will also give them time to assess the market for a new striker.

Nobody is calling him a villain? Those are the numbers he put out there.

My opinion off the latest rumours Tuchel really wants Rice but it isn’t happening this summer so he is instead focusing on a CB, Silva will be gone at the end of the season, Azpilicueta is ageing and it’s unlikely that both Rüdiger and Christensen sign new deals plus Zouma isn’t what Tuchel is looking for in a CB.

So you get Kounde this summer keep Chalobah as the four midfield option this season, then next summer you go for Rice in the cm position have Kounde, one of Rüdiger or Christensen, Chalobah and Azpilicueta plus maybe one more in the cb positions.

they set the price for him. it was ~150 million pounds or something like that. you pay that money for a generational talent like haaland when he's available. he has a chance to be one of the best strikers in history.

lukaku also did not push for the move, only after we paid the money inter accepted, he decided to join. maybe the same would have happened with haaland.

Did they say that publicly?

All those numbers came from journalists like Fjortoft, who may well have been making BS up.

He did. Inter were like 50-50 on selling because they knew how important he was to Inter and the backlash that they would get from the fans. But once Lukaku wanted the move, Inter accepted it and also because they got an out to explain selling him, besides their financial problem.

As for Haaland, I don't see why he needed to wait for us to put in an offer to want to join us. Our interest in him was well known and if he really wanted to join us, he would have pushed for the move, forced Dortmund's hand like what many players have done in the past. But he didn't do that and neither did Raiola.

Buy back clause in the deal..

This is really important money we can now seal Kounde and a CM

Not a peep about Kounde in weeks nor Zouma leaving. Think that ones dead for now. Especially with Trev killing it today again.

Simon Johnson said again today that the club still want to sign Kounde but god knows if Chalobah's emergence has maybe changed their mind.

Trev did us a massive one with popping up in the nick of time. Spared us from one of the biggest transfer mistakes in recent memory if we really walk away from kounde bc of him

We could still sign him TBF, maybe next year if not this year. Silva will likely leave and Rudiger may or may not be signing a new contract.

Possible. But i thought he would be signed specifically for the RCB position which we now have more than enough cover for. Next year we might be more in the market for a mid CB or an LCB if Rüdiger leaves. Both of which i thinkt here are better options out there.

Today's backline of ---Trev---AC---Toni  looked so balanced, might very well be kept for the future. Has it all, pace, power, height, aerial ability, proactivity, aggressiveness and ability on the ball. Chuck Kounde in there and it is not half as balanced.
