Some of these sites crack me up. Do they think we WANT to keep him on the books. Turning him into a millionaire Doing absolutely sod all? Who do they think will want him that could afford the price tag that will obviously be put on his head let alone pay his wages in Covid times or not. He hasn't impressed in what I've seen of him. I don't normally care too much about what the club want to pay for a player but finances are something we need to consider if coronavirus rumbles on another few years and that's another large chunk.

That being said I can't see us paying that anyway

I really rate Rice but he's nowhere near an £80m player. Or £70m or £60m. Is he worth that to WH? Probably. But if we can put a sizeable offer in the table like we did with Chilly maybe they'll settle for less due to COVID? Guess we'll find out.

But surely one or more have to be on their way out? Having squad depth is one thing but having Kante, Jorginho, Kova, Billy, AND a new deeper midfielder is beyond overkill. One of Kante or Jorginho HAVE to be going for big money. Maybe Barkley as well on top of one of them.
