But its cool to say you don't want the greatest footballer ever in your team.

At the age of 33 its actualy reasonable.

Juve fucked themselves royaly with Ronaldo too. They didnt win anything else what they werent winning without him, infact because they forked 100m on him and his wages, they have shit midfield and fullbacks and suck in CL more every year.

Messi would destroy wage structure, any future plans. It works for City who are a built team (althrough it would be better for them to spend that cash on proper defence).

Besides Liverpool and Bayern dont have Messi or Ronaldo in their team, yet they are miles better than Juve and Barca. Wonder why...

Much like with everything, people get spent. Pep met his ends, so did Mou, Messi and CR. Its time for younger players of tomorrow.

Have to agree with juan I don't want him any where near this club

You both are probably saying this because we know he is not coming anyway, because its not like we have Liverpool or Bayern squad. I'm also sure if somehow he becomes a Chelsea player, you are probably buying 3 or 4 kits with his name. If you guys really mean it, then you are crazy, because right now there is now "project" that is "going places" as Juan suggested. Not sure what "project" he was talking about. In this window the club went shopping again, and next season there is a fair chance we won't be seeing Mount, James or Abraham playing many games as they did this season. Tomori is probably even going on loan to another club as 35 years old Silva will be the leading the defense next season.

Yes, because we cannot afford Messi. But if we had the money or if Messi just did not care about the money anymore after the 8:2 defeat, we would be fools to not go for Messi. Messi at City will destroy us and we would win zero titles for the next 2-3 years.

We don't have Bayern, Liverpool or Juventus squad. Barcelona doesn't have shit midfielders and fullbacks, their squad is actually really good. Not sure you can describe a midfield with Vidal, Busquets, de Jong and Rakitic as shit, or describing Alba and Semedo as shit. Barcelona's problem was thinking that any manager could do the job because of the quality of the players. Valverde did a poor job and he was the one behind those two comebacks they suffered against Roman, then Liverpool. They replaced him with a even worse manager.

For one thats a big risk. Maybe Messi wont be that great in PL. Maybe he declines in a year or two. Just because Messi goes to City doesnt mean they will go on to win everything. Their problem is in lack of leaders, cojones, plan b and defensive tactics. They have plenty of firepower upfront already. I mean its likely they would win PL (as if they arent already the clear favourites duh), but who knows.

If club could still spend 200m every summer even with Messi, ok you can rebuild. But if you have to commit for next 4 years just to get Messi, that will become one aging side all of sudden and it will take few years to rebuild, at which point other clubs will be winning titles.

I was just speaking for Chelsea, because we dont have 200m every summer like City. Its better to build a team for next 5-10 years than commit to Messi.

Mate read again, I was talking about Juve. Their midfield is shit. Danilo is shit. Alex Sandro is hot for a month, then shit for next 3.

Even if it is not about the money, Messi wants to win the Champions League again. We are not going to win it any time soon. So people can definitely forget about us signing him.

Mind you, Barcelona did not win everything with Messi at their peak every season under Guardiola. And that Barcelona side are better than City would be with Messi, a much older Messi.

And I know he's Messi, the best player in the world etc, the Premier League would represent a different challenge altogether especially when he's already 33.

Yes, a different challenge, but people here make it seem that Messi struggles against PL teams, which is not true. He may be small, but he clearly has put some muscles on and when guys like Mahrez, Aguero, Bernardo and David Silva can make it in Pl, why should Messi not make it in PL, who is way better than those guys I mentioned.

I know we have 0 chances of getting Messi. But saying that we should not go for Messi if Messi wanted to come to us and would not care about money, is a little bit foolish. And Messi with KDB in the team would mean that they are the favourites for the PL title for 2-3 years. It would be a huge blow for our new project if Messi goes to City because next three years, we would win not much at all. Havertz by then has two years left on his contract and who knows, if he then wants another challenge etc. because he won nothing with us.

Me personally, I just do not want to see Messi in PL. I am just to afraid seeing him at City, especially after we spent so much.

Really debatable if Messi is currently the best player in the world and improve City in many ways.
Because I don’t think he is. He was definitely but now?
He has 56 scorers this season and that makes 53% of all goals Barcelona scored this season.
Have you seen Messi this season? Bayern match does not count. Even prime Messi wouldn't have changed that result. He just plays with bad players and has to carry them alone

Would Messi really make that huge of a difference at Man City? I mean, he might help them win the Champions League or get past the quarter finals but domestically, City have been dominating it in the last few seasons and winning the cups and league and that is without Messi. They are always the favorites without Messi and that wouldn't change with Messi at all. They aren't unbeatable and certainly won't be either with Messi.

Without Messi Barcelona  will be like West Ham 🤣 .
Real Madrid domination for year coming easily.

Very aged squad  , they are all veterans players  except (ter stegen, dembelle , griezman ,de jong and of course Messi )
