Maybe just because Jovic is not for sell or loan ?

He is the only back up to Benz.

Do you really think a club like Real Madrid will let go their only backup ?

they have been looking at a lot of strikers

they do have Mariano Diaz as well, although they barely play him

RM is clearly not happy with Jovic atm

his returns are poor atm

1 goal, 2 assists in 675 minutes

his only goal was versus Leganes, the worst team in the league

if we had set up some deal, they could have had cover

at least we should have tried a lot harder and earlier

I do not believe he is a 5 to 8 goal a season striker at all

It's too frequent all this though, we have seen it for a few seasons now, this scratching around and panic buying. Where was the clubs vision based on the transfer ban been lifted? In any business you have a plan, a plan based on things not working out the way you had 'planned' They are letting managers down, which results in their sacking. It's alright saying summer is where the real business is done' but come the summer, and if we miss out on top 4 you can scrap half the names on the sheet you had penciled in, this is all part of the January window and buying reinforcements for the areas you see need it.

I've said it before they are putting all their eggs in the Tammy basket and whether it be injury or goals drying up they are sadly mistaken. Season after season we fail to secure the so called targets and end up going for the shit scraps left on the plate. Is there any wonder why we are fucking miles behind City, Liverpool and soon to be Leicester in pushing back up the league?

Fernandes who couldn't get in the Benfica team and Bergwijn who has average numbers in a league that duped the world into thinking Afonso Alves is world class.

I know there's a grass is greener mentality here but that's taking the piss.

I wish they would flop but I'm sure they have more potential than Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Pato, ....

People are seriously caught in two minds at the moment, and including myself I think.

Its just ridiculous tbh, for years the go to narrative the wait until their was a player worth it or in others words "don't sign more Baka/Zapas etc", now they're getting their wish all of a sudden that's the wrong way to do things after all.

It is frustrating not getting another striker (or even a LB for that matter) but not half as frustrating as committing to another one who isn't of the required quality just to sign someone, that's one of the reason's were currently looking for another striker in the first place (we could have just ran down Remy's contract and brought ourselves time in the striker search instead of signing Michy).

Bergwijn is a poor man's Neres, and I don't even think the latters good enough himself.

There's no sense in singing Mertens now.

First 32 yo and the club politics is clear, no long term contract for a player over 30. He is 32 and probably wants a 2-3 year contract. He wouldn't accept loan deal probably imagine him flopping at this age, no one would want to sign him anymore (for some good salary ofc)...

He was a great player back in the days, but that time is over...

Ziyech's release clause

Given the speculation that Roma baulked at a €40m price-tag a year ago, many would have expected that figure to have increased by at least €15m following the season he's had.

However, that doesn't seem to be the case.

The latest reports from the Netherlands from De Telegraaf (via the Mirror) claim that the asking price for the attacker is in the region of £30m, with the player said to be eyeing a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Ajax are looking for just over £30m for winger Hakim Ziyech this summer.

The Moroccan international was a host of players to catch the eye during Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals.

Frenkie de Jong has secured a move to Barcelona while a host of clubs remain in the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt.

And reports in Holland suggest there is also a battle on to land Ziyech, who has previously attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool .

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars confirmed last month that the Moroccan international would be leaving the club this summer.

De Telegraaf reports Ziyech has received offers from Roma as well as clubs in Germany and Spain.

But interestingly it is noted he has not been attracted by any offers on the table so far.

Ziyech has previously spoken of his desire to play in the Premier League, with one club in particular on his radar.

"Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona . That is my ultimate dream," he said in 2017.
