Just to make it crystal clear guys..

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has stamped on rumours that he has set his sights on Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao as a replacement for Ashley Cole.

Reports have suggested the Premier League champions would be willing to send England international Cole to Real Madrid and enlist Portugal counterpart Coentrao in his place.

But Italian boss Ancelotti has dismissed that speculation out of hand, saying: "It's not true, totally rubbish."

It is understood 29-year-old Cole has become unsettled at Stamford Bridge following recent revelations about his private life, but Ancelotti has repeatedly stressed he will not part ways with "the best left-back in the world".

I'll admit, I'm a bit concerned about what Ancelotti's been saying regarding Cole. He says Chelsea won't sell, but he won't deny Ashley wants to leave. I sincerely hope C.A has a talk with him to reaffirm his commitment to Chelsea, we don't want a player who doesn't want to play his heart out for us (ref: William Gallas).

If he really does want to leave and his performance reflects it, I think it would be wrong to deny him the move. We should want player who want to play their hearts out for Chelsea.

MOURINHO RULES OUT COLE SWOOP

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has ruled out making a summer swoop for Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole.

The former Blues boss confirmed that he had been keen to bring the England international to Spain but was put off by the Stamford Bridge club's reluctance to do business.

Mourinho brought Cole to West London in a controversial move from Arsenal in the summer of 2006 where he continued his progress into one of the best left-backs in the world.

The 29-year-old was reported to be considering a move away from England after the breakdown of his marriage to singer Cheryl Tweedy, but a move to Santiago Bernabeu now appears to be out of the question.

Mourinho told the Sunday Times: "Carlo Ancelotti was very, very clear and that's the best way in football.

"He killed the story by saying, 'No money can buy Ashley Cole, Ashley Cole needs to stay'.

"I think Ashley thought about leaving for personal and professional reasons. We thought about him because he's a good player who I enjoyed working with.

"But when a coach says no, it's no, and we have to accept that."

Mourinho was also linked with Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard and Chelsea's Frank Lampard after leaving Inter Milan for the Primera Liga giants.

I stand by this, when he was linked with Real last year ^

*replacing C.A with AVB now.

He obviously wants the move abroad because he wants to steady the ship with Cheryl. If hadn't have been picking up chicks behind her back he wouldn't even be thinking this.

Ashley is the best left back in the world, and I appreciate that, but he focuses way too much on his personal life sometimes.
