There was a bet offer 2.75 for both Kane and Mbappe having at least one shot at goal.
I did n't touch but I thought Mbapper was the easy one and Kane the difficult one.
But Mbapper had zero shots, Kane three.
About Kane the speaker said he was the mvp along with Saka - but before he choked the second penalty.
I don't see why you did n't like the ref. But early in the game he should have given the free kick - short corner to Kane. About a pen there it would be up to VAR who obviously opined it was not in.

Croatia might just go ahead and win this thing now. Impressive mental makeup they have.

Argentina still don’t impress me and a squad like Croatia won’t give Messi much space.

France weren’t impressive tonight, but once again England chokes in big moments.

Morocco is a nice story but the aftermath if they somehow pulled it off would be unbearable with all the political and religious reasons to back them for some…

Tuchel in for Southgate?

Was similar when they lost to Croatia and Italy. They led early on and failed to close the deal.

Apart from the selection, the late subs and taking off Saka, the best player on the pitch, His match plan was too cowardly. Henderson to close off the the right side and having walker play deep they failed to exploit the acres of space behind mbappe.

At this moment Southgate compared to Brazil's Tite is looking like a fucking genius tbh. (it's pronounced TchiChe just to be clear 🙂). Southgate wouldn't have gone with a midfield duo (with one being an adapted CAM) against a trio of Brozovic, Kovacic, and Modric. Or sub defenders (apparently tired) needing to hold to the lead... leaving Fabinho on the bench.... Having useless retiree D. Alves on the bench...  I mean we can scrutinize every decision forever (Pedro for Rychrlison, Rodrygo too soon etc). Not to mention the callup which had too many attackers and not enough defenders made by Tite.

In Brazil we have name for what Tite built: "um time faceiro."

To be fair, coaches are never perfect esp at WC; they make concessions to hold to the group and being able to compete. It's all so very physical and demanding (as we've been seeing) that I suspect the "convincing" part is far more important than we fans deem it to be.

Think I've posted before, but I've heard Neymar is genuinely a nice guy and super approachable esp with kids. Don't think he's as competitive as Brazil fans would like him to be, but we only work with what we got.

chin up, Chelsea fc is coming back in a few weeks.

can't wait. What an abomination of a tournament this has been. Did not expect anything else. that's what happens when a mafia organisation and a corrupted slaving dynasty of tyrants hold a tournament in a desert shithole.

Football wise it was most entertaining WC ever.

It's the same story for a number of managers. Santos' insistence on two holding midfielders until the Switzerland game and Tite, to an extent, come to mind.

Managers should do everything in their power to help their teams succeed rather than putting them on a leash.

what's baffling for England is that Southgate is so spoiled for choice there. He could have started Mount for Henderson, which would have made the midfield far more dynamic and threatening while sacrificing none of the defensive prowess.

Maguire was at fault for the giroud goal, Pickford for the tchouameni one. But ultimately the blame lies with Southgate.

He also left Cancelo on the bench, like surely you would want one of the better fullbacks in Europe to be starting a knockout world cup game?

at the end of the day France march on and England clutch at straws again.

Funny thing is, there were so many people on social media who said Kane was going to overthink the 2nd penalty and not hit the target and that's exactly what happened.

France were basically out of gas for the last 20+ minutes and Deschamps doesn't even bother to add some defensive reinforcements, only takes Dembele off for Coman.

im surprised Kane missed the 2nd pen, he scored the 1st one so emphatically. Shame England couldn’t  knock France out, now Morocco won’t stand a chance against France, but you never know, the way this world cup has played out nothing surprises me anymore.

I think this is harsh. Southgate picked a good team, went with a 4-3-3 and had France on the ropes after HT. We have to factor in that France are a demonstrably better, athletic side than England.

I don't think Mount over Henderson would have made a difference honestly. Henderson pressed well but lacked composure in possession - and I doubt Mount would be any better in that role.
