John Terry

JOHN Terry wants Chelsea to make him the highest paid player at the club if he turns his back on Manchester City.

Mark Hughes is expected to make a £40m increased offer for the Chelsea skipper this week.

Terry (left) and Chelsea have still not sorted out his future despite a two-hour meeting between Terry and owner Roman Abramovich at the weekend.

Further talks went on yesterday between Terry and Chelsea. But if Terry refuses the lure of a £250,000-a-week deal at Eastlands, then he wants Chelsea to reward his loyalty.

The England skipper still feels he should have the right to speak to City without handing an official transfer request in.

But Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has repeatedly made it clear that, with three years left on his current deal, Terry is simply not for sale.

That would change, though, if they were told categorically by Terry that he wants to leave.

Chelsea are concerned about how many more years Terry can play on for after all the injuries he has suffered, and do not really want to extend his contract.

They will do, though, if he brings the matter to a close.

Terry currently earns £130,000 a week, which is £20,000 less than both Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack. Chelsea would not want to pay Terry more than that pair, but the player feels that, as the captain, he deserves to be the highest paid and given a new contract for eventually ignoring City’s overtures.

The club would still like Terry to come out and make a full statement about his future, but there were still no plans for that last night.

Yeah, typical sun blurting things out as usual. But I only posted up what I saw

I think Terry needs to say something about his Chelsea future now, and tell everyone he's staying because the longer this goes on, the more worried I begin to feel...

I just can't believe our talisman, our leader, our saviour, our born and bred would even consider a move like this just to deepen his pockets, it just sickens me!!

If he goes to City I will lose all respect for him. I won't even have the heart to watch him play for England knowing that he plays for those big money wankers!

Even tho he got injured more often and is not as strong as three years ago i still say we should keep him, just because of his leadership abilities. No one pushes his team mates harder than he does i think.

I would feel so very sad if leaves.

Any other club is not worth having him

it would just hurt so much watching him in any other colour than Chelsea Blue.

BUT i still cannot imagine a news paper headline saying "Terry leaves Chelsea". Just not possible

More then they already are? :P

And knowing them if he says he'll stay be oooo how long yada yada

And if that was not enough, Hughes has certainly not given up on the prospect of signing Terry, even though he is currently adopting a diplomatic stance to a situation that may begin to unravel at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea attempt to discover their captain's intentions before they leave for the United States on Thursday.

"I have had fantastic respect for John Terry since I saw him as a young player when I was at Chelsea," said Hughes.

"He is a great player and an outstanding captain. Any manager would covet a player like that.

"But we have to respect he plays for Chelsea."

Hughes has Blatantly said that withplayers like Gerrard and Messi you dont have a chance cus you know they will never leave their clubs. But with Terry, we sense a chance cus we have information that he is agitated at Chelsea.

If I called myself Mr. Chelsea all these years, Id be insulted by that comment. But JT is getting on my fucking nerves. He is quiet, looking to milk this situation. I dun care if he leaves, but I would see it as an insult to our Club, our Fans and everybody who glorified JT as Mr. Chelsea. It will be hard to trust any player if JT goes to Man City.

You know JT wouldn't come come out and say anything if he can get an even BIGGER contract over this circus. No point demanding that he does (I'd be glad if proven wrong, tho'.).

If he goes to City I will lose all respect for him. I won't even have the heart to watch him play for England knowing that he plays for those big money wankers!

You mean an even bigger money people than us?
