He's always going to be a problem when the other team are on the counter, and that's a huge risk, also his marking, especially in the box is tragic.

I agree, his pace isn't the best in the world. This kind of brings me back to the days that we talked about the situations where Romeu & Mikel are more adaptable to certain kinds of situations. Mikel is very good at intercepting passes, reading opposition play and covering. But yes his flaws are in marking and with pace, however his role in the squad at the moment has been pivotal & important. As mentioned before, he isn't the best DM in the world, but we could do a lot worse than Obi Mikel.

I think what Mikel also has over Romeu is his passing. It may not be one-touch, but his accuracy and range is very much needed for this position, imo.

We seriously need to look after that one and treat him like a prospect, i think people are just not liking him because of the Barcelona factor.

I agree with you that we need to keep Romeu and the fact he might be better than Mikel by the times hes 25. Still right now Mikel is the player for us, he has been exceptional this season and long may it continue.

You're the last person I would've thought to come up with that reason..

Romeu reminds me of Lukaku if he was a DM.

Raw talent, the potential is there, just a wee bit he needs to work on. I like him, I think he's a great prospect for the club. Hope he gets a bit more game time while Mikel is away to prove his worth.

He actually reminds me of a young Mikel in the fact he has some talent but a fair bit to work on. Mikel was always giving clumsy fouls away, giving possession away and was very incosistant etc. Romeu looked similar to him in that games vs Manchester Utd and Swansea, also since the games under AVB he hasn't been great. He seems to take one step forward then two steps backwards in games.

Its a silly reason why someone would not like Romeu, And you're the last person I would of thought that would point that out.

Meaning that you usually (on occasions) have proper reasoning for something. Not "Oh because he came from Barca people dont like him"

Haven't seen one decent post from you yet, don't get me wrong i disagree with most people on here against me about Mikel, but at least they put up a decent arguement.

Straight away you've gone into me going on about his goals, when all i stated was he even lacks in terms of attacking, so there's not even a good side to him there. So straight away you've made yourself look like a tool.

He offers nothing upfront either, this maybe unimportant for a DM, but really 160 premier league matches and 0 goals?. Not that it should matter but most fulbacks have a better record than that.

This is guy has been one of our most consistent performance this year, doing all the unspectacular work so the attacking three can flourish, what more do you want?

Exactly, we saw how useless Oscar, Hazard and Mata are without him behind. He is their licence to kill.
