Popular Post! MrExcalibur100 7,124 Posted August 10, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 10, 2014 Unsurprisingly, I've so far seen nothing to suggest that he's good enough back-up to Costa. He and Torres are simply not good enough to be second choice. I seriously hope our board have eyes. He's also 36 and as we saw, more likely to pick up injuries. Torres is also a very serious injury risk, again as we saw last season. Despiadado.Maleante, The Chels, Zazard and 5 others

Popular Post! Milan 17,957 Posted August 10, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 10, 2014 The injury might be some blessing in disguise. Jose and the board might realize something and go for another striker. It depends on how serious it is. termninja 5,290
Damn injuries... I really hope we bring in a secure backup striker, injury to Costa and we can pretty much say goodbye to the PL... I hope big D is going to be fine, but if he's gonna be sidelined for some time, then I'd expect us to bring in another striker. RoyalBlues 4,050
I never doubt his quality and commitment, but yes have to admit, his physical condition might have much worse since the last time he was here. Hope Jose take this into account, whether we have to buy another backup striker.

It increases the chances of us getting a decent second striker. There's still time. TheIceMan, zolayes, Barbara and 3 others

Daniel1980 1,425
But the problem being is it means Torres is staying Torres is staying anyway. I stopped hoping that he'd leave. But if Drogba really is injured, we might actually get a good substitute striker for Costa, which we desperately need. With all due respect to Drogba, he's no longer good enough or young enough to be our main striker if Costa gets injured/suspended/has a run of poor form.
