Good thing is, nowadays there are very few Ppl consistently good at long shots. In the 00s we would have been toast with Kepa.

Magic Lamps 11,692
Kepinho will need him when we inevitably get to  pens at the cwc so it’s good he got his confidence up Johnnyeye, Nero and DH1988
milka 3,406
• The most penalty shootout saves in Chelsea history. • Key penalty saves in four cup competitions, including a final. • 10 overall penalties saved for Chelsea. It doesn't look like an expensive flop 🙃 Johnnyeye

Any other opponent (even City) I'll say play him because he's earned it, but if there's one team that really take advantage of his long shot weakness (the one part of his game Tuchel hasn't managed to erase) it's Liverpool. NikkiCFC 8,459
I dont remember this ever happened? Kepa 13 games this season 8 MOTM. And in other 5 he was also among 2 or 3 best players. Ofc if minutes played are not so low he would be POTY easily. Kepa this season can only be compered to best Messi, Ronaldo, Pele and Maradona seasons 😌 Never seen such a dominance... MoroccanBlue 5,392
Thought at the very least he'd save Konate's or Elliot's. Yes he was shocking (considering his standards) but the weight of blame on our wasted chances outweigh his performance in the shootout. Blues11

He wasn't composed tonight and jumped way to early against a CB.

Laylabelle 9,586
Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. Who knows for next time. Maybe League Cup ones aren't his thing. Lost the last one...and the headline for that was his refusal.
Magic Lamps 11,692
honestly would take super cup and club world cup over league cup anyday even if they are easier to win in isolation. Just annoying that we AGAIN took out spuds in those damned two legged semis only to lose on fkin pens. Not happy with his approach to the pen. you could clearly see he was not waremd up to take a pen and took it like a goal kick. But tbf it was not kepa's fault only. we should have easily won in regular time with the gazillions of chances we had. Johnnyeye

Mário César 1,366
Tuchel make the right decision its sad that is in eleven penaltys he can't make at least one save but there are things that coaches can't control

Mendy's confidence was sky high and that would likely more then make up for his lack of pk quality.
