Forget about sarriball against top 6 teams (besides United maybe) we lack way to many good players to be able to play the way sarri wants us to play. To much deadwood in the team.

In Sarriball the ffg are crimes punishable by subjecting the individual to long bench terms even that may last throughout the season ..

1. Playing Alonso as a left back

2. Playing Morata as striker or without quality right wing player capable of putting decent amount of goals for the season..

3. Playing Fabregas and Luiz against high quality opposition teams that presses high ala Spurs/City/Pool...

4. Expecting any quality delivery from Pedro is a huge crime

Luiz was awful today I can't understand why some lads on this forum think we don't need a new CB Luiz is shit when he plays in 4 at the back formation

Its probably going to have to have to be Christensen and Rudiger at some point during the season most preferably as soon as possible before we're already 10 points behind City.

It's probably also going to have to be Emerson for Alosno. Sarri still needs to learn his players. He will soon realize what is clear to some of us. Luiz and Alonso cant get it done in a back four. The former will never have the required discipline and positional sense and the latter is just an ordinary player.

LOL at the people who didn't think we needed Golovin. Cesc has no legs, Barkley is completely useless all he can do is run with the ball in open space. Amazing reading this thread not one criticism of him.

Right. Some think we have plenty of midfielders. Well, we do, true. But the quality is shocking. Getting Jorginho SHOULD NOT have meant Golovin is no longer needed ffs.

Just say we had won this game with this side. A lot of people would have been saying we are unbeatable, going to win the league etc.etc.etc. Our problems stem way back into last season we all see them, so dont think that the manager doesn't. But we cannot go out and purchase a ready-made side, it will take time. So relax, give Sarri time and enjoy the ride

Ok so we are fucked then are we - we should just give up and hand City the title? So the richest is best?

Seriously take yourself away from the computer and have a word with yourself

Yes, the richest club with the best team is very much likely to get the trophies in modern football.

That was seriously depressing. I truly thought that this would be a competetive, fairly even match. They didn't even get out of cruise control and totally dominated us. Was frankly embarrassing. We look worryingly poor in so many areas.

Entire back for looked shocking. Alonso and Luiz in particular. Even Azpi looked bad. Morata is not good enough, straight up. We will not go anywhere with him. Cesc is done at this level as well. Should only ever play when we are by far the superior team. Barkley looked way out of his depth today as well.

The most worrying thing was that the players all looked demoralized. City effortlessly played through our pressing until we just gave up even trying to press in the second half. Whereas when they pressed us none of our players could handle it.

Lastly, I can't even remember what it feels like to have a world class striker up top. Aguero terrorized Rüdiger and Luiz today. Must be fucking nice.

3 Year plan Hazard, Courtois and Kante are gone. Some of you need to put down the football manager and be realistic. We're going to have to pay for the past transgressions of Mourinho and Conte whether you like it or not.

You're talking as if this problem started today. It's been looming since the sacking of Ancelotti. Football manager, the irony ;)

And the players seem to have forgotten

1. All the pressing learned during preseason,

2. The one touch passing

3. Runs behind the defence

We finished 30 points behind City and our board thought the best way to close the gap was to sign only 1 senior player and change the manager. It shows we have no direction at the top with Roman and Marina. We still have a clown as our main Centre Forward. I'm pretty confident in saying right now that City, Liverpool and Spurs will finish above us. United too if Mourinho can hold back his expected 3rd season meltdown.

You're just not going to win enough games in any league without a striker regardless of how good the football is. Hazard will probably be our highest scorer again. Our board is putting all their faith in Batshauyi and  a Morata that looks broken and wants to be elsewhere? What a joke.

Because city is too good for then and the game is coming very early into our world of attacking football while we have like 5 to 6 donkeys in the starting line up...

Caballero: 6

Not as bad as he usually is as a goal keeper. I actually think he is overrated with the ball at his feet. Takes too long to pass with multiple options and only slight pressure encourages him to boot it. Cannot be in the first 11.

Azpi: 6

Questions marks starting to get raised. Offensively second best to Zappscosta. Defensively our best player. Not comfortable on the ball when pressed and played too many passes down the line that didn't work. More pressing issues than him.

Rudiger: 5

Far too slow on the ball. Takes to long to make a decision and the attack is shit from the get go. Athletic enough to play a high line and is calm under pressure but consistently has focus issues. I blame him for Aguero's second. Switched off often.

Luiz: 4

Makes decisions even slower than Rudiger. Attempts long balls too often. Defensively a shambles. This is not news. I hope he isn't in the first 11.

Alonso: 5

Still can't defend but had some successful flashes of pressing the winger. Takes too long on the ball to make simply passes which put a others under pressure. Not suited to this football.

Jorginho: 7

Apart from 1 or 2 mistakes he had a decent game. Good tackle on Sane to stop a break but was beaten a few times. The most comfortable and calm player on the ball. Keeps it ticking.

Cesc: 3

Runs like a fat toddler. Still thinks it a good idea to press. Ends up just running out of the way. Not suited to this football.

Barkley: 6

Not a CM. Probably never will be. Defensivley he is a shadow. But he is useful at beating a press with his dribbling. With the shoddy passing of this time his strength and dribbling will come in handy when put under inevitable pressure.

Pedro: 5

Energised bunny than has zero upper  body strength. Off the ball movement is good. Rushes too often. Willian has a chance here.

Morata: thankfully not a number 9

CHO: 7

Brave. Tried hard and was our most dangerous player in the first half. Keep going.
