The Sarri Thread

Juventus need a rebuild regardless of manager. Its no surprise even with Ronaldo they haven’t got to a CL final. They have older experienced players who are good but also set in their ways and wont fit a more aggressive high energy playing style which when you look at some of the teams who have had successful runs in the CL getting to semi finals and finals, they have that and Juve need to go that way and the only way to do it is to go down such a path with a Sarri or a Pochettino or a Tuchel etc. Obviously Sarri gone now but they are talking about Matuidi, Khedira and Higuain all leaving as well as getting shot of Rugani and a few others. Pochettino would be my best bet for going in, think he could rejuvenate some of their guys and also blood in some freshness to the team. They desperately need it if they want to go far in the CL, they need to evolve and become more of a functioning collective than solely dependent on Ronaldo and Dybala - which Sarri sort of decided was going to be easier to do than shape them to his demands when he came in so its fair to say not the sort of thing you’d expect a manager as stubborn as he is to do. They signed Arthur so they have him and Bentancur who is a fantastic midfielder to give them a base around and add to with Dybala, de Ligt but they are still gonna need to shoehorn Ronaldo in to the team and get him to function within it because he is still a top player but one who very much plays in his own set way unless you get a Zidane like figure.

Roma was interested in Sarri while he was here. They can easily sack this Fonseca guy after not a good season and go for Sarri.

And Roma paid 29.50m for Spinazolla, 42m for Schick...

So they can afford Jorginho no doubt. He is a starter for Italy NT after all and we can get 35-40m.

About Sarri, when he came here he said that he needs 2 or 3 season to make his football works so it is weird how he did not last more than a season here and in Juve.

Did they really expected Sarri to deliver CL with this squad? RW as starting RB. And they also struggled with RW. Not really creative midfielders. First striker still Higuain? Ajax and Lyon knocked them out last two seasons and this is their level.

For some reason I feel happy with this as Sarri basically gave up on Chelsea and jumped ship right away when Juve came calling.

Why should he have stuck by us when fans were chanting at him to fuck off while giving him all of the blame and none of the credit?

Loyalty works both ways!

I never understood the hatred towards this man. He worked 30 years through shit, as a banker and a semi-pro football coach before becoming full-time manager of a big football club. He should be the example and the idol for all the wannabe scouts, managers and accountants on this forum, if anything. The football his Napoli played is some of the best I've ever seen. I'd love to see some of that again so I hope he manages to sign for a club that has the right style of play in place from the beginning for once just to make his 'transition' just that much easier this time (which wasnt the case at Napoli, Chelsea or at Juve).

When you think about it this guy did wonders with our defense. We had 3rd best defense in the league with Kepa, Alonso, Rudiger and Luiz!

City and Bournemouth games aside where we where shambolic and conceded 10 goals in other 36 games with Sarri we conceded just 29 goals. When we won title with Mourinho 32 and with Conte 33 goals full season.
