Yes, he did say that, but wasn't your point that the board did a good job this off season?  My point earlier was that the problems go further then the manager and that we need a shake up at the board level.  The new manager may have said the transfer market bores him but the board should have realized that the squad needed more then just Jorginho and a loan of Kovacic to compete at the level they expect.  That's why I think the titles won by Mourinho and Conte glossed things over, especially at the board level.  I don't think they are actually in touch with the quality or lack there of in the current squad.

So true. Can't believe the players are getting the blame. They have been guilty of downing the tools in the.past, but yesterday I can't say they did not put in a good effort. Hell, I even saw Eden chase down rashford in the 80th minute or so. The players are putting in the effort but the tactics have made them look like shit.

Is that right?  I must have misremembered, I thought Conte took the first two days of preseason and then was let go.  I don't remember Sarri showing up and taking over the next day, I thought they had someone else running training for at least another couple days after that.  I thought it came out to basically missing the first week.  He might have only missed the first two days but I think it goes further then that.  It was always going to be a tough preseason this year with the World Cup but the Conte situation and the haggling with Napoli only added to it.  It's arguable, but I'm a firm believer in the importance of preseason.  No reason to set yourself back anymore then you need to.  Others may disagree of course.

We got Sarri two days into pre-season and he immediately took over after that. Why would someone else ran the training if we had already gotten our manager?

Yeah and CHO was arguably the best performer in pre-season but was hardly ever used after that...

The truth is Sarri is a fraud one dimensional manager that knows nothing than safe way to play 433 enduring football with his sugar son Jorginho that can't run and aid the defense when under pressure... A coward that can't go out of his comfort zone to play RLC CHO Emerson and try to use maybe 4231 formation when clearly all premier managers has found a very good way to nullify Sarriball...Pep doesn't need to dish out any instructions to his players on Sunday cos it's gonna be a long day... God bless you for still thinking it's all the players' fault and nothing to do with Sarri.

But what I would say though is that it's rather ironic that you continue to blame player power when Sarri has done nothing but instigate or accentuate it. He has criticized the players numerous times for having poor mentality etc but what has he done in the following games? He played the same players again. If players know that they can play poorly and still be selected in the next game, then shouldn't the finger be pointed more at the person who selects those players? Why would players even be motivated if there's no competition within the squad? Why has Sarri not stamped his authority in the team? Why has he not made the point "If you play poorly, you're out of the starting XI"? Nobody wants to see player power but Sarri is only making it worse with each passing week!

because we have a history of sacking Managers and not players ... so if someone doesnt like the manager or his methods, i m assuming a section of players dont really deliver which means the team doesnt perform and ultimately the gaffer gets the sack. Player power at its best!!! 

Having said that, we have Sarri to be equally blamed here along with the players. Sarri could be the best manager to implement the attacking philosophy at the club but he is just too rigid to adapt to the league (like Morata) ... U cant keep doing the same thing excepting different results which is exactly what is happening. We're so predictable with tactics that if we play against the U15 side, they would gives a run of the money. 

We need a total change across the board ... Men in the suits, Manager, players, at this point of time even the owner. There is no structure currently, no spine!!!... The best example to compare would be City as they started in a similar manner (takeover by a rick owner), they had a vision and are executing it in the best possible manner.

I m with you on this ... I do feel that this time we havent been rash in terms of players this time ... Any other season Hudson Odio would have left the club at the first bid itself but we are playing the waiting game (eventually he would go). We did buy Jorghino and Higuaun who were Sarri's choices and then spend ridiculous amount of money on a goalkeeper .... yes we could have got someone cheaper, etc,etc,etc but we spend. 

For once this season, I feel the board has been thinking .... But having said that I would still want them gone for not having a plan.

But the board are at fault -they shouldn't get a 'work in progress'  manager  if theyre not prepared to give them at least two seasons and play youth and hungry players that the manager can bring in.
