Looks like he did not play against Reading. I do not think we will see him until situation is resolved. Also if Pedro and Willian leave on 30th June we are fucked!

If Pedro and Willian leave, Lampard needs to figure out an alternative game plan without wingers, like a 4-4-2 with a 'diamond' midfield or maybe a 3-5-2. That way he could try to utilize a lot of midfielders in the team, especially now that RLC is back too and Gilmour is on the rise.

Either way, that's definitely not an ideal situation to be in at such a crucial point in the season.

Giroud's growing influence and Tammy's return to fitness gives us scope to try it, however there's a couple of issues.

1. We'll need consistency (going forward) from our fullbacks so it will only work if Alonso has another hot streak.

2. Once again brings Michy back in the picture.

I guess Pulisic could also be played as a forward if there's no wingers, so hopefully not a lot of Michy.

I could see James and Alonso being pretty well suited for a 3-5-2 as wing-backs if needed.

I would prefer a 442 diamond if we went down this route, furthermore with Gilmour as the DLP he can drop between the two CB's for any phases of play that require it.

442 diamond stuffs from a lack of width and teams can sit in a low block and nullify it pretty easily. Further, when it comes to our current AM's v Alonso being given a good chance to score. I would pick Alonso every day as he actually knows how to finish properly.

Think it helped him not being a huge player that there wasn't a load of articles about it and whatever else comes with these incidents. Background...random stories that have little relevance etc

Except the one when it came out.

Shame that he is injured though!

This could be the push he needed, pump that chest out and hold your head high and deliver your potential.

we so need CHO and Pulisic to step up and deliver

I still have huge hopes for both

it is why I am not transfer-crazy for any wingers (once Sancho is taken off the table and of course the impossible Mbappe)

Werner is insurance there as well

Lampard on CHO's recent incident...

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/19/frank-lampard-ngolo-kante-kai-havertz-ben-chilwell-chelsea

Lampard said Callum Hudson-Odoi, who will face no further police action after an allegation of rape, must knuckle down after a breach of lockdown last month. “I’m very happy that in the eyes of the law it’s been sorted out,” he said. “That was my main concern at first. I’m very sympathetic to the idea that we’re not angels or saints and we make mistakes, particularly at a young age.

“The big conversation with Callum now is to make sure he learns his lesson from what happened. He broke lockdown and that wasn’t good enough. He’s admitted that and we move on. The next thing is to train consistently at a really high level. He came back from lockdown and got injured early so now he’s having to work hard to get fit again.”
