Managers have favorites. It’s a pretty known and accepted thing. It’s their prerogative to rely on certain individuals to carry out his ideas. it’s also about characteristics though. How they want their team to play and what they are expecting from each player. If conte were still here, Alonso would still be playing a big part - and likely well enough in that system.

Sure it does feel unfair. Ross is also the established player, which makes it a bit odd.

Mount scored a goal today, so Lamps made the right choice. Someone could argue that maybe Barkley should have started for Jorginho.

I like mount and think he has a lot of qualities. Reminds me a lot of Oscar - the good things.

sure with a midfield of 3 Ross can make that a bit more attacking which he’s done last season.

dont think the pivot is working very well atm.

If Mount continues this way, and RLC become again player from last season after he's back I can see us selling Barkley. We can probably get 50m or more.

Ross showed today why Mount is ahead of him in the pecking order. From the amount of chances he had he needs to score at least one.

Yeah far too many touches after getting in promising areas. Hopefully we go back to a 3 man midfield as opposed to 2 screening and one more advances think it suits everyone better. Particularly Ruben who although I think he can play as a 10 but like Tomo said in a thread when we discussed it, his drivings run from there slightly more deeper are very effective.

Still dont get why he never put Willian in on the wing ahead of using Ross and shifting Mason outwide but hey ho not the first time FL has used 2 10s in that 3 and it hasn't exactly worked too well.

Yes its a shoe horn but Willian can not be trusted. He is absolute shit and wveryone knows it. I would rather put Tammy on the wing than willian

Perhaps but we need pace on both sides to stretch teams and be more effective in offensive transitions, Mason is quickish but not as fast as you'd want a winger to be. Also Willian, despite his huge inconsistency and lack of end product is probably better going the otherway when we drop into a shape out of possession. We do need to upgrade on him but I think Lamps already has a preference of using Ross and Mason ahead of him even if it means shoehorning them in the team which hasnt really been a success so far for me but I would expect that to change when Callum is ready. Its a work in progress and I think a striker, a wide player (Pedro replacement) and left back will be the top 3 positions we look to strengthen when our transfer ban is done.

All our tradirional wingers are quick enough I guess but Willian is just so poor, i rather have a player who has actual end product on that position. 

I agree you need a quick player either side. So you saw Emerson pushing high up the pich.  He has got pace to burn albeit no end product as well he stretches play. We will be fine anywayonce CHO comes back. 

I think the wing positions for Lamps are more like no 10s. One always plays rather narrow and the fullbacks make the width.

He was average at best. He has no left foot and cannot run with the ball without looking down at the ground all the time. This makes him miss loads of chances to make the correct passing option and take too many touches of the ball before he releases it.

I like Barkley, but he is down the pecking order for me

I think he is a great change-up option

glad he is on the team

Lamps can get the best out of him

would take him at winger over the dreadful Willian any day of the week

Barkley came very cheap too, was a good buy, especial for an English HG

Willian and Higs  and Drinkwater are the posterboys for our cocked up transfer/sales policies

Bakayoko was just a decent buy that did not pan out, zero stick from me that, BUT I am pissed Marina blocked his loan move to Monaco

He did okay-ish. Honestly he's just so frustrating to watch. Takes 4 touches when he only needs 2. Constantly makes the wrong pass. The most frustrating is how he slightly misplaces so many passes. They end getting to our player most of the time (sometimes not though), but it's rarely ever where it needs to be. It'll be not quite be in stride so they'll have to slow down. It's often behind the player so they have to stop, turn around, and retrieve the ball (this especially happens when he is passing so an outside back.

It kills so much attacking momentum. Slows down play, allows defenses to get in better positions, etc.
