Beigl 1,387
His best game for us so far and he scored a great goal. I hope he keeps this up. Unionjack
Milan 17,956
He was great at Anfield too. Drinks has a lot to offer and I am glad he is showing it even to some of his doubters. His long range passing is wonderful but that was obvious from his Leicester days. Mahrez and Vardy would have fewer goals without him. I also love the 'English' side of his game. Never afraid to go into a tackle. communicate, Unionjack, yuvala and 1 other
robsblubot 3,595
Well, do you really have to watch more of him to see that he has better technique than Baka? How long does it take, and how natural is it, for him to take the ball and move it along? Pretty good first touch and passing. No, he’s not that agile and his runs will be mostly be of the simpler kind, but solid player.

Unionjack 7,531
What is good is the Don trusts him so wont have any problems at all about using him. I think a 3 man of H2O,wee baldy man and Cescy would work great. 2 of them creative enough to get thru parked buses.
Mufassir08 2,400
Not suited to a three man midfield at all. Does the defensive side of the game well enough but lacks any sort of drive, power, imagination or guile to make himself useful in forward positions. I think he fits in well in our 3-4-3 but looks rather poor and ordinary in a 3-5-2. manpe, The Skipper and Amblève.

I was begining to think he was coming good but we just dont have the CMs for a 352 do we. Drinks just doesn't seem to have any confidence. He doesn't even try for 50/50 balls and doesn't offer bugger all offensively. We really NEED a goal soring CM and I hope to fuck that its Rossy or we are up the swannee.. manpe 10,861
The third midfielder needs to be a proper B2B powerhouse or our attacking play will suffer. You can see Bakayoko trying to do that, but he just plain sucks. Drinksy is more like a direct replacement to Kante, not really a suitable partner in 3-5-2. Can Barkley be the answer to our 3-5-2 woes? Unionjack
DDA 9,938
Danny had a bad game last night. He looked like a player who should be playing for Leicester. It's his first bad performance for us though.... I genuinely like Drinkwater and think he could be a usefull squad player but never should we settle for him being a first team starter. manpe and Unionjack

I think he fits in well in our 3-4-3 but looks rather poor and ordinary in a 3-5-2. Tbf making forward runs isn't really part of his game. Cesc should be doing that more than DD out of the two of them, getting into the box because he is a greater goal threat. It was interesting watching them both interchange and take turn about at it but it was so obvious DD isn't effective in those more advanced positions where as Cesc is more useful. Its a pity Cesc's legs aren't what they used to be either, crying out for Barkley or Bakayoko, guys with pace who can arrive from deeper and break the lines. Other than that everything else DD does is good, interceptions, wins tackles, distribution is good: doesn't try to force it which is good and bad, can go long and short. Hes a good foil to have next to Cesc and Kante for me in some games because hes not exactly a like for like for either but hes got a bit of both their attributes in him, decent distribution long or short (Cesc) and defensive side (Kante) but in games we have a lot of the ball and need support for the forward players a Barkley, Bakayoko or Willian in a front 3 is better suited yes. I think now after watching him get a bit more game time in the last few months, he is a good squad player or to come in and solidify the middle of the park. Pity hes not a few years younger as he could really go to another level but hes at that age where hes meant to be in his peak now. Still overpaid for him but he will still be very useful for sure with rotation etc, now we have 5 senior central midfield options with Barkleys arrival: Kante, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Barkley (a 10 but think he will occupy that role Baka plays and can defos do it). Still unsure what would happen if we lost Kante though he is so key to everything, its hard to get a player exactly like him but do we need a 6th CM if we play go back to playing 343? Even then finding a regista (Does anybody still use that word now a days of just creepy old Italian journalists?) or somebody to take Cesc's place in the long term should be what the club look for as well. Popular Post! Mufassir08 2,400 Posted January 28, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted January 28, 2018 Can't believe we spent 36m on Drinkwater. He is the very definition of mediocre. El P., BlueSunshine, 11Drogba and 8 others
OneMoSalah 8,886
Was unlucky against Norwich with his shooting but today he probably didn't hit the target more than once, if at all. Solid enough player, pity he wasnt 3 or 4 years younger he could still grow a bit more but I've said it before 35m was too much but thats the English/homegrown VAT on top, isnt it? It’s not even that that’s the worst for me. We literally have his position in the squad covered in Kanté and Bakayoko. Such an unecessary buy. Doesn’t offer anything different. Constantly injured. On quite high wages also. He isn’t an elite passer, isn’t great at influencing the midfield, isn’t that athletic, just offers nothing interesting. Who ever sanctioned/recommended this signing needs to be sacked. Mufassir08, Amblève., kellzfresh and 1 other
