People are going on about me having amnesia, while all of you also have it. We scored world-class goals that made us win proper trophies that season. WE WON TROPHIES THAT SEASON even though "they were end of their career" including the CL. You can argue our performances weren't world class, but performances don't give you wins. DUH. So what if 17/18 squad is "better" in terms of performances. We banter Spuds for having better performances but no trophies to show. THIS 17/18 TEAM IS THE SAME (but worse than Spuds). EDIT: Robben didn't miss a penalty. Cech saved it. The 11/12 team against Bayern were out of its depth in that final. Agreed. But the current 17/18 team will ALSO be out of its depth in that final. Trust me, there will be hardly any difference. The result maybe even worse. You know you can win trophies without being world class or even very good? Unless you rate Wigan 2013 or Greece 2004 higher than Chelsea 2008? And no this team wouldn't be as out of their depth, in Munich we conceded about 20 clear cut chances, it was the most one sided CL final ever. communicate

Two years ago. Real let go of him twice and rather keep fecking Benzema over Morata. That tells you something. Morata isn't suppose to be a backup CF here at Chelsea. That's Bats/Giroud's job. He is suppose to be the lead CF. Seeing him moaning on the floor while we were in trouble vs. Cows United makes my blood boil. Personally, Morata's season is over. May score 1 or 2 odd goals, but that's it. He is easily muscled out, can't hit a barndoor with his feet, loses the ball and seems to be very nervous on a 1-to-1. That's why he reminds me of Torres even though Morata had a better start over Torres (thanks to his head). And Real have been doing really well haven't they by sticking with Benzema....... Morata outscored Benzema IIRC last season despite starting less games. Morata scored 15 league goals despite starting only 14 times. That is impressive. And they won the league last season. They made a poor decision selling Morata and relying on Benzema whose struggling much more than Morata.
Popular Post! Jase 43,479 Posted February 28, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted February 28, 2018 In all honesty, this comparison between Morata and Torres is kinda silly. If we want to talk about making impact on the whole, then yes, I can see where people are coming from when comparing those two. But the similarities between the two end there. Morata has far more quality than Torres (when he joined us) and has shown on some occasions what he can do upfront. The main issue is, for whatever reason, Morata seems more interested in falling down, arguing with referee etc than making his quality count on the pitch. He wanted to be the no.1 striker and we gave him the opportunity to be one but hasn't proven to be that and he's talked about repaying Conte's faith but again, he's not fighting for him, for the team's cause. Genuinely want him to succeed here but someone needs to talk to him to find out the problem. If he doesn't want to be here, if he's feeling home sick, we should just cut our losses and start looking elsewhere than do what we did with Torres, persisting with dross for so long. Agreed... torres added close to nothing while Morata is a good player who's been very poor at finishing and struggling physically. However, it's easy to perceive physical inaptitude as lack of desire. It's very difficult to show desire and to fight when you don't have the tools and end up losing most 50/50s. When you are always in pain, and do go down easily, or at least more easily than your teammates. I disagree that it's all in his head and that a talk may do the trick. Shoot for next season... he might be physically stronger then, with the right preparation. Don't really think it matters that much though... bring any striker here and the team would still struggle. Our midfield is very weak. Amblève.

Years on that goal still holds up, to be able to turn like that when the ball is fired into you. Pure class! I went with my dad to the cup final that year too. Great, great times! If we only have Morata and Giroud and Morata fails to kick on we will struggle hugely. Even if one of the younger lads comes back from a loan next season to give us an extra option it saves us from the position we were in the first half of this season, where we had 2 strikers but only one favoured and as a result was flogged to death. Morata will have to have a Road to Damascus type conversion attitude wise and from what I've heard even though he's playing in a struggling side Tammy Abraham has looked extremely average. I think it was a mistake letting Traore go I was always impressed with him when he was given the chance.

He seemed unsettled in his first couple of seasons and i remember in his second one he was booed by our own fans for diving and his general on pitch behaviour and histrionics. I must admit that the last few weeks have been alarming, we need to see what he's made of.
!Hazard! 3,394
Good thing is he has been so poor recently he shouldn't have a chance to play at the World Cup. For the entire summer, he should spend days practising finishing and evenings at the gym.
