Watching him you can't really play the "EPL is tougher" card anymore. The league has no influence when he misplaces the simplest passes, fails to control the ball, misses headers or collects stupid yellows. All purely technical deficincies, not a matter of adaptation to the league or anything. That's why i have little to no faith that he will ever justify signing for us.

He was very good against Atletico and couple games before. To see him play this shit for a while now, its hard to explain.

But I guess its complete lack of confidence. And people will laugh, but if he can somehow pull it together, be it with age or different coach, I think he can be great midfielder.

Baka is terrible player right now, but Salah was awful here aswell and he is now leading scorer with 28 goals.

I mean never say never, Baka as shit he is might actualy reach top level one day. He certainly still has glimpses of it, but his head is in all the wrong places.

No it doesn't as you can say the same with Torres, Veron or Falcao at their times.

We knew Veron, Torres and Falcao could produce that level of performance for us when they were here, but they failed to consistently do it. How is Baka any different.

Not saying these are the reasons for his poor play....but Baka is younger, hasn't gone through career threatening injury and is very new to the premier league.

I would definitely give him a chance over the 3 you mentioned.

But whether he get's that second chance with us, is the question.

I said the same for Morata, but Baka's confidence is completely shot. Its even  worse than Morata I would reckon.

For me the situations of Morata and Baka aren't even close. Morata is miles ahead as a footballer even with low confidence. Baka with low confidence is a random bum from the street occupying space. I haven't lost faith in Morata, he has shown he has the technical tools, it's his mental side that needs work.

Despite the shit he shown this season, I would definately give him another chance. If he gets past his inconsistency and mental trouble which he can, he could be the best DM in league.

he can't hit a 5 yard pass, he's not even going to be the best DM on our bench

In a season where we have been collectively terrible, I'm willing to give him a pass.

For as bad as he has been, the first couple of games he had with us, he did show some signs of brilliance. When he gets the ball and carries it out, taking on players, he looks like an unstoppable force.

His middle game is just horrible though. As far as being a physical beast goes, he excels, but passing, decision making, and general field awareness is fairly terrible at the moment.

If we get an offer, I wouldn't be opposed to letting him go, but at the same time I wouldn't mind if he stays. He needs another chance IMO. First season, and extremely young. If Monaco want him, and we get Fabinho instead... perfect.

For me Baka need to be given a chance simply because his attributes suit what we need from our cm that is why I don't criticize whoever made this signing unlike the signing of zap or drinkwater.

If next year he still play like this then either send him on loan or just off load him

Agreed.

For me, it was a signing we needed because we've lacked physicality in our midfield for so long. We always get overrun against the bigger teams.

Kante is a beast, but he isn't that 6 foot+ brick wall. He is a bulldog. Baka is most definitely that 6 foot wall, and he clearly has skills and the physicality, but he simply didn't put his brain and skills together this season.

Hes going to make a career out of being a box to box midfielder (whether its here or not who knows?). He lacks the necessary discipline to play as a 6 I think which is evident to see since the turn of the year when he has played but he showed against United when we beat them in the first match that he could be a good box to box player.

When we first signed him I thought it was a great buy. But then after seeing his early games I wondered if the Chelsea curse had got him. But I thought I'd keep an open mind on him and the lads had some good spells tho no continuity.

On paper hes a great partner for our wee baldy man and he has shown us he knows where the goal is and helps others to score. As a B2B I cant see him as our new Lamps but I am open to the idea of seeing how he goes next season. And as it looks like Conte has full faith in him hes got to have something in him. And he did get some praise from him in the after game interview. Along with Pedro and Morata.
