Bad enough without Rudiger, CHO RLC and ReeceJames, now the Wee inspiration.

those are 5 massive players out for us, grrrrrrrrrr

that is literally almost half of our top 12 players

the others being

Kepa

Jorginho

Azpi (with Reece being knocked up really hurts as we may need Azpi at CB (Reece can play there as well) much more this year IF we do sell Zouma, who is putting in a transfer request, so we will deffo need to keep Zappacosta)

Barkley

Pulisic

Mount

Kovacic

with Luiz, Emerson, AC, Zappacosta, Pedro, Willian and the 3 strikers making up the balance of decent players (I refuse to put Alonso in there, lolol, even though he is probably not going to be sold)

It's as though our years of good fortune in terms of important players getting long term injuries has come finally reversed. So many important/exciting players out. Not being able to sign any new players would've been mitigated by starting the season with all these players fully fit.  Think about opening up against Man United with CHO and Pulisic on the wings and RLC charging in behind them. 😩

With Kante a potential doubt now as well it could be a bumpy start to the season. We've got players who can fill in short term like Kovacic but we can't cope for too long without him.

The decision to play him in the Europa League final has come to bite us in the arse.

Sarri didn't care. He wanted the trophy and knew he was off in the summer anyway so fielded Kante regardless of the long term consequences. I am just hoping Kante won't turn into Essien.

Thats true. Bad mobe by Sarri. But I really dont think so. Essien relied greatly on his power. Kante is an excellent reader of the game and he is good in tight spaces because of his low center of gravity. That wont go away with an injury even if his pace might

'Why now?' - Chelsea fans left distraught as N'Golo Kante suffers major injury setback

The midfielder picked up a knee injury against Watford at the start of May and has yet to fully recover from the problem.

The news of N'Golo Kante's injury setback is a huge blow for CHelsea.

The midfielder picked up a knee injury against Watford at the start of May and has yet to fully recover from the problem.

Despite not being fully fit, Kante started the Europa League final against Arsenal but then missed France's June internationals due not the fact he hadn't fully recovered.

Kante was then named in Frank Lampard's 25-man squad for their pre-season tour of Japan, but it seems that the injury has reared its head again as the midfielder has flown back to London early.

"N’Golo Kante has travelled back to the UK to continue his rehabilitation for an injury connected to the knee problem he sustained at the end of last season," read a statement on the club's Twitter page.

It was worth it though. Will probably be our last title for some time.

Exactly. And the League Cup and FA Cup, at the very least, are still more than winnable.

I have to say, I will be shocked if we can lift the trophy v Victimpool, as we will be missing so so many key players still:(

Frank Lampard gives latest N'Golo Kante injury update after Chelsea's win over Barcelona

The Chelsea midfielder has not featured in pre-season so far

https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/players/ngolo-kante-injury-frank-lampard-16632508

Frank Lampard confirmed that it was his decision to send N'Golo Kante back to England but is hoping to have the Chelsea midfielder back with the squad soon.

The 28-year-old World Cup winner has not fully recovered from the knee injury he suffered before the Europa League final back in May.

While Kante has been with the squad through much of the summer, the Frenchman is yet to have any minutes on the pitch in Lampard's four games in charge so far.

Kante was flown home before the 2-1 win over Barcelona, so that he could recover from the injury quicker and continue his rehabilitation back at the training ground.

Of course, Kante is going to be a massive part of Lampard's plans in the future, especially with the Blues taking on Manchester United in the first Premier League game of the season.

And Lampard is hoping to have him back as soon as possible with three pre-season matches left.

"Yeah, he is okay," Lampard said about Kante's condition. "It was a decision that I made because I felt that him being here, with the facilities and the moving, travel etc. that we have been doing, it probably wasn't the most beneficial for him.

"He went back, has had a few days at Cobham, working well, progressing, so hopefully by the time that we get back at the end of the week I will sit down with the doctor to hpoefully know that he will be back with us very soon."

Anyone else excited seeing him rip shit up as used to under Conte? Man it will do us great to see him back to his best, for me he was underwhelming under Sarii......played way too advanced imo. Put him where he belongs and he is the best MF'er in the League for sure.
