manpe 10,861
We all know that Azpi is a terrible wingback. We have actually never won a game his started at wingback. Go figure Terrible WB or not, he's still a far superior defender.Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk Not this season. His been very average. He has even been dropped from the Spain squad because of his performances of late. Tactically Conte has been shocking all season, his actually not gotten any single game correct all season, that Atletico result is proving to be a fluke each passing week. Zappacosta came on only for final five minutes and even then Azpilicueta stayed on the pitch as a wingback. And, of course, has scored from a wingback position. I think it's more a case of an observation on results, player performances and just an overall pattern of what's happened in the past with managers. I mean, the players won't get sacked will they? Nah...they ain't gonna get the sack...its just case of how people cannot envisage from the start what we are currently passing through thanks to our piss poor summer window...though not all boards fault for our lack of results conte partly to blame as well....playing willian Cahill fabregas and those past it players...but then no great options...anyway I believe and hope conte turn it around and we start getting results... El P. 1,354
Conte had the balls to drop Ivanović, to drop Terry, to drop Fabregas. Conte had balls to make Alonso and Luiz our first XI players, and that worked well last season. Conte had balls to reinvent Victor Moses into RWB. Conte had balls to change our whole system, multiple times (first to 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 if I recall correctly, after that 3-4-3). And now you are telling me that he isn't tactically sound, that he doesn't know how to react? He changed that last season because it was obvious we need to change formation to fade out old unusable players (Oscar, Ivanović), especially after we brought Alonso and Luiz, both tailor made for 3-4-3. Conte obviously has reasons not to change formation now, it's not like there is general truth about what team should we play. Ok, maybe he should've generate our defense a bit better, but I don't remember any time this season we being comfortable at the back at all, maaaybe against lesser opponents, and he gave chance to lot of our players at the back. Fabregas and Bakayoko as midfield two... well, maybe Drinky would be better, yes, but I doubt it would be by big margin. He is actually trying 3-5-2, trying 3-4-3, trying different approaches in defense, but I am sure that if our players were good enough, some set up would be successful by now this season. So yes, we can criticize Conte too, but thinking that any of our shits are his fault and thinking that he needs sacking are pure delusion. Antonio Conte is the least of our problems. HE is the main reason we've won league last season. If we are gonna place our bets on someone - it should be on him. Everything you say is more or less spot on, but what the media/press or any outside fan fail to see was simply how poor our summer window was, something that we are now suffering for. Turn on a radio, read a tabloid or click a link it's all 'Chelsea in a mess' Conte has lost the team' Conte chucks his penis at first team players' The summer is gone and it's easy to forget that, but for certain fans and people on here everyone was climbing over themselves to spend and strengthen based on an extra cup competition and how the rivals would react. What I am trying to say is what you are and most CFC fans should know...this guy in charge has been let down big time, and until things change behind the scenes things won't change at the forefront. It's idiocy and high time it was ignored, like these people continuing to ignore blatant signs of power struggle. And in a nutshell this is why we are one of the most attractive job in the world to manager's, they get all off the credit and none of the blame, quite literally. Moyes and Van Gaal fuck up at United and it damages their reputation beyond repair. AVB and Jose fuck up at Chelsea and get another big job within months. How did Van Gaal damage his reputation beyond repair? He's never been known to play exciting football, he went to United, steadied the ship, helped push Rooney out of the club and he gave a chance to Rashford (who will be playing for United/England for the next decade). He hasn't had a job since and since United he's been treated like a bit of a joke by the average football fan. You just know if he was with us and done the exact same job, people would sympathise with him and say the fault lies with the player's for downing tools and the board for not backing him, then some gullable executive would have lapped it up and gave him another chance, like Levy and Woodward did. Morata has hardly been great for the past month and yet he has been selected for Spain. So what’s up with that? Given Spain are just playing friendlies and not WC qualifiers, I would hardly read too much into Azpi’s exclusion. Yes, he hasn’t been great but this is normally the time for the already qualified nations to test out some other players. Plus, I wouldn’t complain about our players not getting called up for international duty. Less risk of injury and fatigue and more time to rest and recuperate. manpe 10,861
2 hours ago, Jason said: This bit is interesting: In Italy this week Conte had apparently been willing to accommodate his players’ plea for Cahill to operate on the right of the back three, a move they thought might stabilise the collective rearguard. As it turned out, Chelsea conceded after 38 seconds, were never secure and the captain, crestfallen, was hauled from the fray before the hour-mark. Questions on that tactical move prompted rather cryptic answers on Friday. “Those who must understand [do] understand,” said Conte. “He’s very good playing on the left. We won a league with Cahill in this position. I don’t understand why we have to try again to put him on the right but sometimes can happen a misunderstanding.”
