I agree as well. 

But also these are done to gain favour with these powerful agents I bet.Falcao's agent is the great Jorge Mendes, and he could maybe steer a transfer target our way (Ruben Neves?) or anyone else of the hundreds of footballers he manages. And Pato's agent is Mondial Sport. They represent some of the most prominent players around Europe too including 3 of ours in Zouma, Traore, and Nemanja Matic. And if reports are true that we wish to offload Matic, gaining good favor with his agent can make the deal much easier. Would like to add, it'll be interesting to see if we target any other players managed by Mondial Sport because we haven't been linked with any of them so far. 

I'd like to think there's a serious end-game in this, and that we aren't trying to jumpstart fallen careers, but you never know with Chelsea.

I also forgot to mention the JM--> Mendes connection, which may explain the Falcao one. Because that was done befoe this season turnt to shit. But the Pato transfer is interesting indeed.

You're certainly right. Football these days is an agent's paradise.. They're more sought out than the transfer targets themselves. Nike's deal will help too, rubbing shoulders with the sponsors is just as powerful.

Pato has not had contact from Blues or Antonio Conte about future, says agent

"Chelsea has not given the player, me, or anyone any information regarding Pato's future," Veloz told Goal."We received the news that Mr. Conte was revising the players in the squad, however, he did not contact Pato or me to talk about his future as well."For now, Pato's future is still in the open, Chelsea has the option to buy, but if they don't then we will begin looking for other clubs. As of the moment, we must first wait to hear the club's decision."

Pato has endured a disappointing loan spell at Chelsea, only making his first appearance for the club in April due to the striker lacking match fitness and then fighting for a starting berth with Diego Costa and Bertrand Traore.

Despite the long wait for his debut, Pato scored in his first match for Chelsea against Aston Villa before starting the club's next game away to Swansea City.

However, after a disappointing performance in front of goal at the Liberty Stadium, Pato failed to play again for the Blues as Chelsea finished the season in 10th place.

I think him going back to Brazil was a cert. Him or Remy (maybe both) need to go.

Off to Villarreal in Spain for £2.5m. Think he was worth a punt here as a 3rd of 4th striker to be honest. He was way behind in fitness levels I must agree, but things would have changed drastically under Conte's double training sessions.
