Jose came along and made it sexy, the manager replaced the player(s) as the star of the team. He's a revelation in every sense of the word, and will go down as one of the most influential people in the sport. sdrcfc, Rambo, Tomo and 9 others

Term-X 7,891
Brian Clough did that 40 odd years ago. No, he didn't.. football was still in the dark ages in a marketing sense, the premier league era changed everything. Clough was a massive character in the english media, but not in the same context and certainly not on a global scale. He laid the foundations though, in regards to an image change, but not on the same level.

On youtube you can actually find videos of players wanting to swap shirts (Mourinho's jacket) with him. I had never seen such thing before in football. Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted January 14, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted January 14, 2014 I know that this doesn't exactly fit the general consensus, but I think Jose, and the team as whole, has exceeded expectations so far this season. I mean, this is the same team that was struggling for consistency while playing some uninspiring and disjoint football to say the least. We were a cup team last season.I have always said that the expectations that we would be title favorites were always unrealistic for such a young team that has been away from the top for a few years. For me, the fact that Jose has us performing fairly consistently, especially in the league, in such a short time is a very good achievement. CHOULO19 24,332
Very interesting sub headline:Roman Abramovich hands Jose Mourinho the power to decide whether veteran players are worthy of new contracts at Chelsea And that is probably why it was written: because it sounds nice. Not because it is true. How would a journalist know such a thing?

Yeah I know. I would like it if it's true. I think the man has shown that he is still up to the task.I was afraid that Madrid had killed his desire like it has killed many players in the past.
