Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted February 14, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted February 14, 2014 Some Arsenal fans calling Mou a failure because he got "sacked" at Real and in his first stint here. How they despise him as a man and that he's the biggest dick in the PL... It's hilarious. Gotta love how Mou is getting under the skin of these lot. They're angry because it's true. kellzfresh, Muzchap, Strike and 5 others
Popular Post! bababoom 4,478 Posted February 14, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted February 14, 2014 Seems like Wenger comments got to him, Jose wasn't even joking. Not really sure if Wenger struck a nerve.I do find it funny that most of the Arsenal fans who said the exact same thing somehow feel insulted because Mourinho said it... at least Piers Morgan agrees with Jose. darrus, Sidzeret, The only place to be and 8 others

Alan Partridge 1,124
Just telling it like it is Wenger failed! All those youngsters were meant to grow into a title winning side, never happened. They sell their best players. They win the Emirates cup though! and apparently 4th in the league is kind of a title according to Wenger...... robsblubot, Muzchap and Barbara
The only place to be 11,313
Wenger failed! All those youngsters were meant to grow into a title winning side, never happened. That's well unfair. Just look at how successful Fabregas, Van Persie, Clichy, Nasri and Cole have been. The Skipper and Barbara

Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted February 14, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted February 14, 2014 Wenger might actually be right about a 'fear of failure'. In my experience a lot of winners have a horrific fear of failure and are sometimes labelled 'bad losers'. Wenger's way around this is lowering the standards of a victory by treating top four as a trophy, as he said here.http://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/feb/19/arsene-wenger-arsenal-fourth-placeHe's happy to throw Arsenal's name into the title race because not winning it is not a failure by his standards. He's a 'winner' purely by finishing in the top four, and if you look at their fans' celebrations at Newcastle last season then you'll see how they've been brainwashed into believing that as well. The man is a coward plain and simple, and for him to criticise a WINNER'S fear of failure as if it's a character defect tells you everything you need to know about the man. Viper22 2,418
To be fair they haven't had the luxury of spending much in those 8 years. He's done well to keep them where they are to be honest. But their board are just full of stingy businessmen, they have the funds no doubt, they just don't put more in transfers as long as they make tidy profits from the Champions League and ticket sales thank you very much.Let's be honest though, since their last trophy he's spent horribly:Reyes for £10.5M, Hleb for £11.5M, Eduardo for £7.5M, Arshavin for £15M, Squillaci for £4M, Gervinho for £10.5M, Ozil for £42.5M and the crowning turd in the water pipe Andre Santos for £7M. He could have spent that ~£110M so much better...

It's a vicious circle really as some say you develop winners by winning.Pretty vicious comments by Jose, even though they are all true. It also somewhat diminishes the importance of the people who have worked along with him - not to mention the clubs.

But their board are just full of stingy businessmen, they have the funds no doubt, they just don't put more in transfers as long as they make tidy profits from the Champions League and ticket sales thank you very much. But if Wenger is so limited at Arsenal, why didn't he leave Arsenal for a bigger club where he could put his own talent as a manager to full test, lift trophies and make history? If he was to leave Arsenal, I'm sure he would be offered a job at some other big club. Why did he stuck to the Arsenal job knowing the club can't or refuses to invest more in his work?Because he lacks ambition and he couldn't care less if he wins trophies or not. He is afraid that he could pull a Moyes, leave Arsenal and watch his career go downhill from there. So it's true, Wenger IS a failure because he is happy to be on the losing side. That said, I do believe Mou went too far on this one. No need to put the old man down about it...
HD3D 1,038
The funny thing is the amount of Arsenal fans who can't find fault with what Jose said. There were plenty of them who were ready to say goodbye to Wenger after their poor start and now that they're faltering, you won't see a rush to defend him.Plus Wenger teed him up perfectly and deserved exactly what he got. He's too easy a target.Actually, I think most of them seem to agree :http://www.goonersworld.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26969 robsblubot

Wenger is a specialist in failure, well, for the last eight years he is anyway.Look at Arsenals record before Wenger took over, it ain't great, he took over and changed it with some shrude business in the transfer market... Anelka, Petit, Vierra and Thierry Henry stand out for me as his best buys. He then built on this again with the occasional shrude deal... Them shrude deals are getting fewer and fewer, and his stubbornness in refusing to change his ways in the modern game is his downfall. It is all about continuity, Fergie carried on his success and that is why he is the best manager to ever have managed in this country, if Wenger had continued his success he would be challenging Fergie for that title, bus as he hasn't won a trophy for 37 seasons now, he will be remembered in the same way Rafa the waiter will be, some great stuff and some shit stuff. robsblubot
