Fernando 6,743
Well I think it's clear why Pedro choose us over United. Is not like we are something great above United. It has to do with lifestyle and management and Mourinho plays a big part of that. One of the reason why United was so successful was not because of the "United" allure, but because of SAF.Same can be said of Mourinho. It would be great for once if he stays for us beyond 5 years, but I'm having reservation. His way of handling things at times can be chaotic, but if the club is willing to turn a deaf ear to such things and see the value this manager brings, then long term can be a possibility. But all depends on how the hierarchy continue to act towards Mourinho shenanigans and weather his lack of youth integration means anything to them...... Why not give 1 youngster a chance? How will we ever know whether or not they are good enough if they don't play?

yuvala 2,167
Honestly I just dont see any of out current youth players playing for us.Bamford maybe as 3rd striker, maybe someone else with a few minutes here and there.. but cant see anyone really "breaking" into the team. LDN Blue 7,903
I can understand people getting frustrated on Mourinho not using any of our talented youths and I am a little too...But at the same time I can understand why he doesn't. We want to retain the league and aim for CL. Youths are more of a risk to creating mistakes.Look at Arsenal over the past 11 years. So then when is it time? By that excuse, youth should never be used. SAF was chaotic !!He threw hairdryers at heads.. Publicly slated his players (something Jose almost never does) It's the media bro. They love to hate Jose. We want to retain the league and aim for CL. Youths are more of a risk to creating mistakes.Look at Arsenal over the past 11 years. Why do people always bring up the Arsenal example in integrating youth discussion? Yes, Wenger didn't achieve much while trying to blood youngsters into the squad but then again, you look at what Fergie, Guardiola and heck, Van Gaal did at United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively. They all integrated young players into the first team and still went on to win trophies. No one is asking Mourinho to go youth crazy and start playing 5-6 youngsters in the first XI. No. We want to see him integrate at least 1, if not 2 or 3 into the first team. We have some really good young players in the academy and we aren't really using them. We want to see progression, long term planning and if Mourinho is going to stay for years to come, like he plans to, then he can't go every year and just buy players in the market. Like Gary Neville said last year, you cannot win 4 Youth Cups in 6 years and not bring them through (watch the video below from 2mins 50secs onward).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tIFL2p1fJo lionsden, Amblève., 11Drogba and 5 others

Unionjack 7,532
I gotta admit TBH that I dont trust youth too much either. OK 1 in a blue moon deserves a fair crack at the whip but I'd much rather buy who we can, where from and how much he cost. But at the same time I would probably play them over Bane/Cahill/Rami/Mikel/
Laylabelle 9,754
Sometimes you have to take a chance or having a youth team is fairly pointless if they just go elsewhere.Agree with what Jason said other teams have done it just fine and have results from it

Doing the double in the second.Every manager has got flak for it, the tendency at this club doesn't change irrespective of who's in the dugout. The longer Mourinho stays and the more he merely pays lip service through grand promises, the more scrutiny he heaps on himself. lionsden 4,689
It's his third season now. the excuse for his lack of trust in youth was that we needed to break the 5 year league drought which he has already achieved and lack of stability. what will be the excuse this time if he once again ignore the youth?
