DYC. 7,542
Too early for this, its not even the end of June.We seem spoiled by last season, getting transfers done and dusted early is very rare and we got lucky that all our targets had release clauses and were keen on coming, that won't be the same every summer.I don't think anyone is spoiled. People love transfers. It could be March and there's talk about potential signings. I'm sure even many Real fans are pining for some new players. We'll see what happens. Even if little changes are made, you can be sure it's because Mourinho knows he has a squad that can/will win the league.

Indeed Jose said as much when he talked about hoping to get it done before heading off on holiday. We all know the realities however. Among other things moves often involve chains. We can imagine this sort of conversation, "We'll sell him to you once we can buy our replacement from them, but they won't sell till they've got their replacement in." Even more often the sellers simply have no incentive to close deals early. In fact they frequently have every incentive to hold out and wait for the looming deadline to put pressure on buyers to add the final few millions to their offers.Transfer windows like the last one are fun but windows like this one are much more common. We can be sure that the club is working on deals as fast as it can so our only choices are to wait patiently, or to wait nervously. Either way, we do have to wait. Popular Post! Tomo 21,754 Posted July 1, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted July 1, 2015 That won't. The Falcao deal, however....I can't honestly see it ever being as bad as it was in 2007, they wouldn't have "married again" as Jose put It if that could have happened.Back then Roman was a new owner and Jose was a young manager with the world at his feet, the egos of the pair at the time was through the roof.Since then Jose had a sobering experience at Madrid and Roman had his fingers burned by some seriously clueless manager's not naming any names Scolari, I think both realise how lucky those two were to have each other hence the second coming.Something will have to go seriously wrong most likely on the pitch for there to be a repeat off 2007,I honestly believe Jose has this job for as long as he wants it. Roman and Jose have a good understanding now. What can ruin that, however, is Jose signing a dud simply because his agent needs a favour. Do you seriously think anybody else at the club thinks this is a good idea?Jose must have had a lot of convincing to do to get the go ahead on this one and for what? A player that looked terrible all season and scored 4 goals; is coming off a big injury; looked awful at the Copa America and is on a huge salary on top of that. Then there's the fact this is going to take minutes from Remy. This a huge and ultimately unnecessary gamble. It would be a bit hypocritical of Roman anyway after he got Sheva not to mention the lengths he went too for Torres.Let's keep our fingers crossed Costa stays fit for most off the season and plays the bulk of the league games making Falcao as less of an issue as possible if he signs. Since then we have completely changed the type of signings we make - so much so signing that signing the current Falcao seems like 10 steps back let alone one.Honestly, we're going into the season hoping he doesn't have to play that much. This is such a shit deal Tomo

This is such a shit deal I don't think a one off will be that much of a step back especially if we in general stick to the transfer policy we adopted. Can't argue with the last paragraph,an even bigger problem is even if he magically replicates his Leti form can we justify spending big money on a 30 year old? Especially as we have one of the best strikers in the world already. Styles

I believe Wilkins when he said, two or three years ago, that Carlo was the one who initiated and pushed for that deal. Muzchap

It's clear that promises were made to Nando during the recruitment process and my guess is that Roman felt honour bound to see that they were kept. I like that Mr A has that quality about him so I wouldn't want to see a change but it's a safe bet that he's counselled himself to be more careful about what is promised in future. Fully agree with that, I don't know if you were on here when Rafa was appointed but I was really pissed off with some of the comments about Roman when that happened, we are very lucky to have him and seeing owners at other clubs like Newcastle and Blackburn serves to put that into perspective even more.
