darrus 422
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists 'No regrets letting Frank Lampard go - we did it for the future of the club'Sounds as unconvincing as it gets, sorry Jose."Let's try and make everyone look good in one unpleasant situation" - well, ok, maybe it even would have worked if we heard it all back in August, but not now.Whatever spin gets put to it, it all comes to one thing - Lampard said he won't play for another PL club, and now he's playing for City. Giving RLC less than 10 minutes in a dead rubber isn't exactly helping. He scored in a lot of important games for this club and the history of this club. Now he’s just carrying on and we are not so happy when we see that, but this is the reality. At least Ivanovic speaks his mind, none of this "happy for him" b/s. lionsden 4,689
Honestly, I just read it now and actually burst out laughing.Next week is Tammy Abraham's turn and the week after that will be Jay silva's "academy day".He might run out of academy players to use as PR excercise at this rate. jose is spreading the love, i tell ya

The interviewer must have been thinking where did that come from Jose.
Fulham Broadway 17,332
Asked whether Chelsea had made a mistake in letting Lampard go, as he netted another winner for City at Leicester on Saturday, Mourinho was initially terse.“It’s his life, nothing to do with us,” he said. “He left Chelsea as a free agent and chooses his life, we can't complain about it. That’s football.”But the Blues' boss then went on to go far deeper into the reasons behind the split than he has yet mentioned. He said: “My view is that when you want to look forward, look for the future and have people like Fabregas and Matic and Oscar which are the next 10 years of the club, and the project is prepare for the next 10 years not for the next year, we made the right decision.Think hes right there, but hes also covering the boards arse. The interviewer must have been thinking where did that come from Jose.Yep. What it does is just confuse everyone, the anticipation for RLC getting minutes midweek was incredible. He even let the kid do the presser, I don't understand why. I still, albeit slightly ignorantly, believe Mourinho does want to use these kids.. But he seems too afraid? Popular Post! lionsden 4,689 Posted December 15, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted December 15, 2014 Well a good read about Chelsea and City academy from G. Nevillehttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11289726/Premier-League-academies-must-be-more-than-just-obscene-cosmetic-surgery.htmlGary absolutely hit the nail on the head here with a sledgehammer. here are the highlight from the article."Loftus-Cheek was paraded like some kind of exotic creature. Look, an academy player in the first-team! We lined up in the Sky studio excited at the thought of seeing homegrown talent in a Chelsea side. When he played for eight minutes, we showed the highlights of it as a special segment. We were seeing a rare species.""The moment where the talking has to stop. Academies are not about infrastructure and how many pitches you have. How many gym bikes. It’s about how many players you produce for the first-team. Nothing will demoralise a youth team coach faster than feeling there is no pathway to the first-team squad because off-the-shelf signings are blocking the way.""We have now reached the time when those Manchester City and Chelsea youth team and academy coaches need the inspiration, the bragging rights. They need to know all their hard work is not in vain, that opportunities exist." LDN Blue, Amblève., Stats and 4 others
Stats 7,147
It was really OTT with the RLC and the way his debut was being built up by the media. It goes to show that either the media don't have faith in Mourinho integrating youth players into a first team or highlights our poor track record in developing young players at the club. The reason I say this is that Arsenal had a younger player than RLC making his debut against Galatasaray named Ainsley Maitland-Niles who is a real talent. You did not hear any of the same hype about him even though he was actually given the chance by Wenger to play much longer on the field then the odd 8 minutes we gave RLC. Like yeah I was pleased to see RLC make his deut but the way it was all built up, you would think he is the second coming of Christ FFS. lionsden and Strike
