Lol he won't. And he is more of a Peter Crouch. And that's kinda an insult to Crouch because at least Crouch is very lethal in the air in the opposition box.

Look at Copa America. He's finished, like Torres. I'll eat my hat if Falcao becomes lethal again.

hahahhahahhahahahhahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

4 goals and 4 assists in 14 starts for the season... In a dysfunctional team changing its line up every single game and no synergy... coming back from injury.

Why are we pretending Falcao doesn't know how to play football anymore? As someone who watched some United, it isn't due to injuries he played poorly, but mainly looking lost out there and not knowing where to be. Completely understandable in a team where Rooney was being played as a defensive mid at points in the season. He will be fine on a team like ours where his role will be more defined. His creativity and shooting ability is still there.

If we are only getting him to purely replace Drogs then it's fine. It would actually be an upgrade despite the higher wages. The problem here is if such a talented backup who can play better than Costa at times is going to leave as a result.

All the excuses I'm hearing for this transfer is basically the same hope with Torres. We've heard it all before haven't we? It's the expectation that kills you.

Honestly if we were to gamble, I'd rather try a young and hungry striker like Solanke if he isn't going to be loaned out.

But let's be honest, there aren't many players willing to be the 3rd striker here at Chelsea are there? No way young guys like Lacazette or Destro would want to sit at the bench.

So despite all the negatives, I think we're resigned to the fate and trust in our coaching staff to bring out the best in him. No matter how much some of us are against it, if he turns out good we'll happily eat that humble pie. So let's just support him while he wears our colours shall we?

Honestly mate i just hope that the Falcao signing lights enough fire under Costa's ass (and hopefully Remy's) that Diego goes apeshit goalpig mode scoring 40 next year.

Then next yr is the academy guys to take over.

4 goals in 14 starts is mad deceiving when he's totalling 4 goals in 29 appearances for United.

Falcao is not a creative striker either. Never was.

Crouch = 8 goals

Falcao = 4 goals

Now who's the clown? Falcao is finished, get over it. Falcao isn't awesome like he used to be. Torres 2.0 bound. You are talking as if he is going to suddenly change with a click of fingers back on old form.

Mourinho is a tactician, not a magician.

2013-14

crouch - 9goals (2290 minutes)

falcao - 11goals (1495minutes)

2012-13

crouch - 8 goals

falcao - 34 goals

2011-12

crouch - 14 goals

falcao - 36 goals.

want be to go further down?

so one season right after a massive injury, and into a new and physical league while playing in a 3-5-2 or someother asenine system is the norm for MANA the great to judge TIGRE,

what a weird thought. jose is not a magician and yet HE is the one who wanted falcao at chelsea despite having all the money and a lot of options open (benteke, lacazette etc). hmmm... well, i would take jose the tacticians' opinion over yours. :clown: :clown: :clown:

I'd rather they light each other's asses and score 80(yes I'm greedy). Would have the added bonus of making United look like twats

I think if we have to pay 5/7 million to Monaco to get the loan of Falcao Perhaps we should make a counteroffer including several of our players that are in our Academy or those that are on loan in other teams in Europe.

Monaco plays Champions League next season and I think French league is a league with an acceptable level where our young players could evolve in their performance.

For example, if Bertrand Traore does not get a work permit for next season, maybe Monaco could accept having a player who has made 14 goals last season and perhaps is one of the young players with better future. And it would be perfect for Bertrand Traore. Another step in his professional career.

I do not know, but maybe this could be a way to avoid paying money to Monaco in exchange for signing Falcao.

Regards.

i am so gonna enjoy rubbing it in people's faces.

Me too.

And if it doesn't work out, it's one season with no obligation of a purchase.

Makes me laugh people want Bamford or Solanke as a third choice striker behind the injury prone Remy and Costa. Neither are ready and need a PL loan.

What in the christ has happened here? Suddenly people who are usually so level headed (Mak, Choulo) are losing their freaking minds?!?!

Look everyone, if Remy leaves then yes that would be disappointing as he's a more trusted player. But if he leaves then it will have been his choice before this. If he wants to leave for first team football then I guess we have to accept that, but he would have wanted to leave in that case whether or not Falcao signed as he's definitely behind Costa in the pecking order. So this transfer will have nothing to do with Falcao, whether Remy leaves or not.

Falcao is still a good player. If you watched his performances last season then you'd see that he was severely handicapped by LVG's moronic formations and tactics. Not saying hes anywhere near as good as he was at Atletico and Porto, but he doesn't have to be. As long as he's alright then he'll be a decent 3rd choice.

Also, we have not signed him, it's a loan deal. We don't have any details about it yet but the suggestions that I have seen are that it is £4M with an option to buy at the end of the season for £35M (option to, we don't have to and 99% chance we won't) with wages that are around £175k p/w. For those kind of figures I really don't see what the fuss is about. If people wanted us to sign another striker then they would have cost much much more than £4M and would likely want high wages considering they'd be sitting on the bench as 3rd choice, if they even wanted to come at all!!!

As for Bamford. Now, I have been one of the biggest advocates of this guy. I love the way he plays and IMO he's ready for the Chelsea team. BUT if either Jose doesn't think he's ready or thinks he'd benefit from a PL loan then so be it. Jose has obviously decided this well before deciding to sign Falcao, so this signing is not pushing Bamford out of the team as he was already out anyway. Whether Jose is right or not to do that is a debate for another time, but i'm happy to trust his judgement. So if Bamford has a good season at a PL club he'll be ripe to either be sold or brought into our team if there is a space. And the 1 year loan deal of Falcao means that there will almost definitely be a space for next season in our 3 striker system.

Everything about this deal makes sense. Please think about it some people and actually read what I just wrote. It seems as if people are either having a moan for the sake of it or laying into him just because he's a big name player and just because of that it's giving people weird flashbacks of Torres.

How some people can be so arrogantly confident in the abilities of a massive United flop is beyond me.

Say what you want, but people like myself are arguing the simple facts of the situation:

Remy = One of the best 2nd choice strikers in the league, if not the best.

Bamford = Our best youth prospect.

Falcao = Couldn't hit a barn door and threatens the future of both strikers.

Your arguments are based on hope, sunshine and rainbows.

So is he taking a 50% wage cut? If yes than it's worth the risk.

I'd say no automatic starters from Costa, Remy or Falcao. Let them all fight for a starting place. Keep them on their toes and hungry to score goals..

You say that at the same time as severely over-hyping a player with absolutely no Premier League experience in Bamford.

In my opinion, the same people writing off Falcao now are probably the same who wrote off two of the last big name forwards to come over from French football in Drogba and Giroud.
